Honestly, I'm sure they're all Clash fans. Ken is also a huge Green Day fan.

CombatRock 07-12-2005 11:10 PM

That's it, well at least on record.

On the singles collection they also cover "I've Had Enough" by Slapshot, and that song is on a tribute comp, which my friends band is also on.

CombatRock 07-12-2005 11:45 PM

you and your Boston. in the times you seen DKM did they ever say anythign about the clash or cover a song by them?

BostonBound988 07-12-2005 11:47 PM

No. But I'm going to bed now. Its almost 2 AM here.

CombatRock 07-12-2005 11:54 PM
Its really his last name... and I think he played violin on Junco Partner.
thanks for sending me JP again, i love that song, exept the beginning with that werid noise.

guns_of_brixton 07-13-2005 10:21 AM

I have like 5 other versions of Junco Parter on my computer that I can upload if ya want, but I've heard YSI hasn't been working right.

James Booker (original guy who did it)

Mescaleros (live version, f'ucking awesome with great sound quality, Joe changed some lyrics, I love it)

Mescaleros (not as good sound quality)

101ers (s'hitty sound quality, maybe still worth a listen)

El Clash Combo (live, pretty good, Joe sounds awesome)

CombatRock 07-13-2005 12:36 PM

all of those are Junco Partner? do you have the song that is on the beginning of Essential Clash DVD, you know when there driving in the caddy?

Coma_Girl 07-13-2005 01:03 PM
I just bought Global a Go-Go, I should've got it a while ago. Its a great album.
I love the song that goes "well, i was walking down the highroad and this guy stopped me"

and "if you really wanna go, you'll get there in the end"
(i dont remember the titles)

and the video for Johnny Appleseed is great. Not as great as Redemption Song, but you should watch it.
what instruments did he play, and please tell me Dogg is his real last name, cos if its not its really gay.
Tymon Dogg was a good friend of Joe way before he was in the mescaleros. He officially joined the band after their semi-secret gig at the 100 club, before they went on tour supporting The Who.

Here's your thread back Clash whores, enjoy, but don't spam. Let it rest some days, savour it's presence.

CombatRock 07-15-2005 12:28 AM

i love you nick. is it here forever or will it be deleted again?

Brain Toad 07-15-2005 12:46 AM

It is here forever, unless it ends up being bumped every day, to either keep it on the first page, or to just say something non-significant about the clash.

CombatRock 07-15-2005 12:47 AM

awesome, dont worry andy will keep us in line. so yall closed it why, i still didnt get the point?

Brain Toad 07-15-2005 12:53 AM

Jessizzle 07-16-2005 05:59 PM

From The specials bio, I thought it was kinda cool, I never knew they played together.
"After the clash's Joe Strummer had heard them preforming. The Specials were invited to be the souport act on the Clashs No Patrole UK tour which gave them national exposure for a brieft period they even shared the Clash's own management.

Yeah, Bernie (mis)managed Los Speciales after the guys told him to f'uck off.

I thought it was sweet that Elvis Costello produced their record. It should've been Joe though.
