It was absolutlely awesome when Megadeth opened their set with Blackmail the universe. They had pyro effects and and weird chainlink fences covering their marshall cabs.

They opened with that at Download. No pyro though. Apparently they timed the intro plane bit with a plane flying over seeing as Download was next to an airport. I dunno if it's true or not because i was paying too much attention to the band.

It's true and it was cool as hell. That was a ****in great show, they were the most popular band on that day and I still can't believe they weren't headlining that's so stupid but anyways 2 weeks after that I got to see them at a club with around 1000 people and it was awesome, don't know which was better but I'll tell ya headbanging along with Glen and then James just a couple of feet away from them that was ****in awesome.

Jev 08-01-2005 12:03 PM

I waited all day at the front for them. I stood through all that indie but it was well worth it. The only person that got in my way was a security guard a couple of times.

did you go to gigantour? What show did you go to?
Droogies!

Well, the first stage of this tour is behind us and thank God for that. As with all tours I have ever been on over the past 20 years, all tours have bugs in the beginning. Fortunately we have top notch professional people out here from every band and we are now in smooth waters.

My dream for Gigantour is alive and all of the bands are having a great time. But I don't know who is having a better time; you the fans or us band guys. The backstage enviroment is one of the best I have ever been in and I will tell you that we are all, and I mean every band, playing better every night. The DVD is going to be awesome!!!

Thank you for supporting this dream, thank you for staying metal!

Tomorrow night in Dallas I am supposed to play a song with Dream Theater on behalf of Darryl. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have fun since I have never jammed with another band like this. Wish me luck!
That's so good. I don't know if anyone else would really like that, but I so hope that's on the Gigantour dvd, or at least a Live bootleg of it gets released.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-02-2005 03:39 AM

I'm sure it will be bootlegged.

What song I wonder? My guess would be Pull me Under, or something of ToT.

Maybe just a jam or even a Megadeth song with keyboard solos and LaBrie singing. :D

FlyingPaul_83 08-02-2005 10:09 PM

I wish they would've done that at my show :upset:

Dude3 08-02-2005 10:14 PM

Hopefully they do that at my show. Its on Saturday. I CAN't WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAthiAS 08-02-2005 10:36 PM

I've got such a long wait til my show :upset:

RustedPieces 08-02-2005 10:41 PM

FlyingPaul_83 08-03-2005 12:11 AM

Chu 08-03-2005 12:37 AM

Feel for me, there's no way I can go :(

FlyingPaul_83 08-03-2005 12:46 AM

I feeling for you man..... but I can't find you!? :p

so how is australia? :D

Chu 08-03-2005 02:28 AM

****en great for everything, but music, unfortunately.

Edit:
After DT ended their set, they came back out and started Cemetery Gates. James sang most of it. Russell Allen sang one of the more aggressive parts, as did the singer from Fear Factory. Mustaine came out and played the final solo. Anyway, it was amazing, but you'll all see it eventually as there were several cameramen on stage.
Last night in Dallas, tribute to Dimebag, obviously :)

Very good news.

Huber 08-03-2005 02:59 AM

I wanna see that...very much so.

Dude3 08-03-2005 05:57 AM

That sounds like the coolest jam ever!!!! Megadeth, Dream Theater, And Fear Factory playing "Cemetary Gates"! I'm in awe. I'm going to the Orlando show. Maybe they'll do a Death song. Maybe.

I actually live much closer to the Tampa show, but Orlando's cooler, amirite?

I dunno if they'll do it again. I think it was a one-off :(

PeEpHoLe_10 08-03-2005 06:08 AM
I would have loved to go :(

**** my Australianess....
So I guess the whole Gigantour coming to Australia thing went out the window? :upset:

Probably. If they do, I would freak out.

It's undecided yet, probably not.
But come to the Gigantour forums, and convince him to bring it here.
We need it.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-03-2005 07:16 AM

Did you see them in April Chu?

Chu 08-03-2005 07:40 AM

I'm in Canberra, so it's just a 4 hour drive to Sydney, or 8 hour drive to Melbourne, either way.
But, I missed them :(
I really wish I didn't... I'm kinda poor though.. :upset:

Just move to Florida! (Has new avatar, get used to it)

If that happened I'd kill myself for not being there.

awesome :thumb:

after seeing dream theater, I'm glad I saw then instead of anthrax. Sure anthrax would be awesome to see, but seeing john petrucci and john myung was incredible.

Dude3 08-03-2005 04:57 PM

I don't know if I rather see DT or Anthrax. I know more DT, and am loving them at the moment. But I also like what I've heard from Anthrax. Meh, I guess I'm happier that I'm seeing Dream Theater, on Saturday!
