do you mean like something as specific as technical death metal or something as not specific yet still somewhat specific as death metal

metalcore is a fusion genre so that's why I don't feel guilty about calling it my favourite genre.

often times both, but more emphasis on the subgenre labeling like progressive death, technical death. I can say Folk or Country is my least favorite genre, even though ive put little thought into looking into Folk music and none into Country.

I love metalcore bands to death, but imo its the most inconsistent metal subgenre out there next to maybe Black Metal.

Within the genre a lot of the music is hit and miss. But when bands get it right (7A7P, Botch, Converge, PT-dubs, Underoath, Architects, Misery Signals etc) it's amazing.

well all those are good but when i mean hit or miss, i mean half the artists i check out i either love or i completely hate.

the only good genre of metal is none
