I don't *think* they're midi but they might be. I think they're programmed drums though and their guitar tone isn't exactly the best considering they use POD's.

We haven't gotten too far with the recording project yet. :upset:

R.I.P Cliff Burton

metalhead_matt 09-29-2006 03:07 PM

Talking of Cliff and being innovative, is there any such thing as a bass with a whammy bar btw?
that would sound different.

You know, I've always wondered the same thing. You'd have to have some pretty stiff springs in order for it to work.

Huber 09-29-2006 03:26 PM

Youtube Les Claypool for bass whammy bar stuff.

You mean someone has already invented it? Damn, just when I thought I'd get my millions of dollars.:upset:

Jev 09-29-2006 05:24 PM

Les Claypool has thought of everything when it comes to bass.

iluvkirkhammett 09-30-2006 12:49 AM

Whammy on bass sounds awesome. Though terrible if you over do it.

Thank you Metallica for making Master of Puppets and ...and justice for all, they will always be a major influence on me. Like they are gonna read this. Oh, in 2000 my friend saw Lars buying a bottle of wine at a state liquor store in Salt Lake City, I thought those guys stopped drinking. (Their music was better when the were drinking)

Jev 09-30-2006 05:18 AM

Lars drinks, but I never thought it was a problem for him.

You can see him drinking in SKOM, when his paintings are being sold.

iluvkirkhammett 09-30-2006 07:37 AM

Yeah, he's drunk and HILARIOUS when he's selling the paintings.

Well I believe 2000 was before James went into rehab, not that it matters, Lars still drinks, but probably not in front of James.:thumb:

exup 09-30-2006 02:31 PM

Well, if you drink responsible there is nothing wrong about it..

Damn i sound like an wiseman this way *get's another half liter of beer from the fridge*

Jev 09-30-2006 05:44 PM

There was nothing responsible about the way he was drinking :o

lightningmetal666 09-30-2006 05:56 PM
There was nothing responsible about the way he was drinking :o
I remember in an interview with Kirk about when he joined. He said they were all drinking vodka like it was water. Hence the nickname Alchoholica.

iluvkirkhammett 09-30-2006 10:25 PM

Not to mention when Kirk joined, Cliff was around, and he did A LOT of drugs!

Chu 09-30-2006 11:56 PM

Really?

I know he smoked a massive amount of pot, and did alcohol, but wasn't aware of anything else he did...

iluvkirkhammett 10-01-2006 01:01 AM

He and Kirk 'experimented.' Kirk did a lot of drugs, so did Lars, over the years. But he stopped all that fairly recently I believe, like right before SKOM.

metalhead_matt 10-01-2006 05:39 AM

if you could place the new metallica song on an existing album, which one would you say it fitted on best.

Jev 10-01-2006 06:46 AM

Hard to say.
Probably somewhere between load & the Black Album.

metalhead_matt 10-01-2006 07:07 AM

yeah thats what i thought. i think the black album is the furthest back they can sound now

metalhead_matt 10-01-2006 02:35 PM

wow i killed the metallica thread

Speaking of drum recordings! I have managed to record several songs onto my MP3 player, is there a way of getting them to PC?

Jev 10-02-2006 07:04 AM
