You stereotype too much Vince.
Nay, this is from empirical evidence.
"When you go to see a live show why bother showing to see a show if you could get the same effect by sitting on the couch listening to your headphones. Your girlfriend could give you head as this happening and it would be better then a live show if you didn't do anything" - Booker
I don't see your point? So if I'm not trying to knock out everyone around me I can't be having a good time? See better shows.
Two stepping looks cool. All other is lame though.
Two stepping is the bastard little brother of skanking.

Mute Print 09-13-2005 05:39 PM

When I go to a show, I just like to jump around and listen to the music. I don't mind mosh pits, but I hate when people punch/kick/throw elbows. I don't really like hardcore dancing either.
Two stepping looks cool. All other is lame though.
I don't actually even know what two stepping is. Someone explain please.

It's this crazy video link with all the different types of hardcore dancing, it features converge on it too. Amazing video...

Zeppelin your views are flawed because I don't know what live shows you go to but from Warped Tour to Bane mosh pits are contained areas and no one ever gets pushed in when they dont want to be in it. You're more likely to suffer a broken neck from a crowd surfer then get punched in the face at a show from a "hardcore dancer"

This sums up my views as well.

It's basically skanking without moving your hands.

Understanding In a Crash 09-13-2005 05:41 PM

"Slam dancing, circle pits" its all a release of energy from a live show. It's so we dont all look like we're watching the Lion King on broadway jumping up and down and pointing our fingers at the stage.
It's basically skanking without moving your hands.
You do move your hands.

And Dan, I want a link.

Mute Print 09-13-2005 05:43 PM

I don't like crowd surfers much either. I can't stand having people falling on my head all night. It makes it so I have to be constantly looking behind me.

I've never actually crowd surfed myself, but I don't like it all the same.

I'm looking for it. It used to be "this is laredo dancing"... its sick. One fat dude in the video picks up a chair and starts swinging it around his head and everyone all of sudden backs up.

And what is this skanking you speak of?

What you do to ska music.

Ya crowd surfers definetly bug me too I just can't stand constantly looking back to see if someone is comming and if I don't I get someone dropped on my head.

My views are flawed? Please explain how. Some people like to mosh without getting punched, it's that simple. Not to mention you can get pushed into a pit if you don't want to be, it's happened many times to me and other people I've seen, and I've seen injuries result from it. Plus, they're usually at the front, so should people be forced to move away from front and center after waiting an hour to see their favorite band because some dicks feel like punching people? I shouldn't think so. Plus, you don't have to be in the pit to get hurt, you can be in the general vicinity and if someone's being crazy it's not hard to get hurt. I was about 2 rows back from the pit at underminded and some guy jumped into the people around the pit and started hitting people, and even that far back I got hit in the jaw. Real cool.

Crowd surfers are basically crushing random people especially if its a fatty. Circle pits usually have good morale (especially at warped tour and most "real" hardcore shows). It's hard to understand but if someone ever falls down its not like he gets trampled on. If anyone ever got hurt people would help them. It's why I think circle pits are good for shows.

I think someones just pissed because they got sucker punched and couldn't back it up.

Oh, okay, I get it now. Seems... fun?

Understanding In a Crash 09-13-2005 05:48 PM

Plus I live on Long Island and wouldn't expect people punching people in the pit. Their isn't even punching in the pit and if their is usually the scene is tight enough to just take that one guy out who is doing that. It's good like that here.

'Tis.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-13-2005 05:49 PM

I like circle pits sometimes like if I am really getting into the music its just a cool way to get more into the music for me people have different views though.

Excursions 09-13-2005 05:50 PM

It is flawed because hardcore is agressive, angry music. You can and should expect one or two punches to go your way.

Understanding In a Crash 09-13-2005 05:50 PM

I requested the video in the hXc forum Spencer.

Gnarmageddon 09-13-2005 05:51 PM

Awesome. Thanks.

I'm gonna watch Band Of Brothers with my dad. :D

Why should someone be sucker punched at a show by some random person, is that fun? Your points suck. Argh, I hate arguing you because you're such a moron.

Skanking is awesome. Ska shows rock.

The video is one of the most violent I've ever seen a Pit get. Converge was playing so that was understandable but alot of people probably died the next morning :thumb:

This is very true. Ska shows are so much fun. I've only seen like 3 ska bands, but they were all really good. So much energy at ska shows.

Well considering how you act here and your hatred towards hardcore/emo forum I wouldn't be surprised.

And Metal isn't? I have more fun at metal shows than Hardcore shows because people aren't douches.
