Well put it this way

anything you draw on a computer

is just numbers
I dont draw on a computor, all my design are done by hand and made by hand, but i still need basic maths.

or like calculus and shi

Its nothing complicated, the most i will proberly use is Pythagoras theorem

The guy who designed that did the course im gonna start on in september hopefully, that must of took some working out, maybe not loads, but w/e.

ChodaBoy 01-19-2007 05:44 PM

During almost 3 years of computing ive only needed maths for 1 part of the whole course - binary. And that only needs +-x/ which can be done with a calculator and a shit load of patience

my calculator does binary on it's own without conversion

i use it in electornics

sometimes

Dead Star 01-19-2007 06:22 PM

i ****ing hate binary

You use a calculator to do binary?

:amaze:

I've just finished my first semester doing Computer Science, we've already covered basic things such as binary, octal and hex, as well as doing a seperate module in discrete maths and probability.

I kinda miss calculus in a way. It's quite rewarding when you do something difficult.

2muchket! 01-20-2007 04:56 AM

GCSE Maths seems so much easier in comparison with my other 3 AS subjects which are very essay driven.

AG 01-20-2007 05:31 AM

Pat and Zo are here omgomg.

We got WRECKED last night, whoop.

Imma make a slideshow and post it. More drunk tonight + bowling.

Drum Phil 01-20-2007 07:42 AM

Goths.

Pastorius 01-20-2007 07:50 AM

Man, maths can be absolutely beautiful.

You want to visit pretty much any Physics department in Britain, and they should have some Maths based art.

My one has lots of geometric patterns on the walls, a sculpture of a sphere turned inside out, and this amazing piece of art that runs down the middle of the spiral staircase. It's like loads of wires going from a single point into multiple points. Hard to describe, I'll see if I can find a picture.

But yeah, once you get past boring trigonometry and basic calculus, maths becomes an art form.

Drum Phil 01-20-2007 09:51 AM

AG, that wasnt very nice :(

Kif 01-20-2007 10:47 AM

Binary is easy.

ChodaBoy 01-20-2007 12:02 PM

Its annoying

Amen brother

PAstorius are you srs doing physics at bristol

that is totally where i want to go

will you still be there next year?

2muchket! 01-20-2007 01:16 PM

So yeah I've narrowed the uni's which I'd like to go to study law at. I was thinking Manchester, Durham, Bristol and Hull.

In addition to this any info on Physics courses at any uni would be appreciated, Bristol in particular as I'm thinking of applying to go there.
So yeah I've narrowed the uni's which I'd like to go to studt law at. I was thinking Manchester, Durham, Bristol and Hull.
Pretty ambitious of you, good luck. What about the other two spaces?

2muchket! 01-20-2007 01:58 PM

Other two spaces ?

fortyseven 01-20-2007 02:01 PM

I have 2 flat mates doing Physics at Manchester. Kinda wish I'd done it now. It's just good.

Durham do Physics now? I thought they just Nat. Sci.

Untitled 01-20-2007 02:04 PM
Other two spaces ?
You get 6 options with UCAS.

Im to stupid to do a subject like physics, but i can draw and paint quite well, and enjoy it, so why not make a career of it.
Durham do Physics now? I thought they just Nat. Sci.

Dunno but I said in my other post I'd like study law and maybe history and (if they'll take me) English lang. But I think they would require for me to have done it at A2.

The_Passenger 01-20-2007 02:16 PM
Other two spaces ?
You can apply to six unis on your UCAS form.
Durham do Physics now? I thought they just Nat. Sci.
I'm pretty sure they offer both.

2muchket! 01-20-2007 02:35 PM

Proabably Leeds and maybe Edinburgh (think I've heard good stuff about there).

Jev 01-20-2007 03:25 PM

man, you guys are thinking about uni now. im still clueless.

Untitled 01-20-2007 03:25 PM

Ive heard good stuff about Edinburgh.

But its supposed to be realy expensive, just as expensive as London.

ChodaBoy 01-20-2007 03:35 PM
man, you guys are thinking about uni now. im still clueless.
I've applied for uni, and am still clueless as to whats going on

Untitled 01-20-2007 03:38 PM

I dont have to apply till the 24th of march i think. Then i might not even have to apply at all anyway.

Jev 01-20-2007 03:41 PM
I've applied for uni, and am still clueless as to whats going on
that's re-assuring.

Untitled 01-20-2007 04:24 PM

Adam is only a simple folk.

I hope i get onto degree through direct progression. *prays*

Kif 01-20-2007 08:54 PM

I hated applying for uni. UCAS can suck my balls.

ChodaBoy 01-20-2007 10:11 PM

Yay Ricky Hatton won.

I dont normally watch boxing, but a guy from Manchester, who is a City fan is someone i can watch

2muchket! 01-21-2007 08:06 AM

Plus the man is one tough bastard.

trysthedrummer 01-21-2007 09:55 AM

Come to Hull Frankie. I will probably see you if you do. :) I live near there.
