i am recording the intro FTB solo now and will do the outro solo after.
apologies though...no practice.

this is to lionheart/eug who wanted it

EDIT: ok im using audacity cuz it's free but i can't export as an mp3 file i need some sorta codec....so ill have to export it as a wav file.

keep in mind these are each in one take. i just realized how sloppy i was w/ regard to the metronome in faster passages

eug008 09-22-2006 09:34 PM

I thought you were using cooledit that I sent you? If you are you just go export MP3.

EDIT: If you want the codec for Audacity it's on the webpage.

ghettoeddo 09-23-2006 01:25 AM

ok sounds good

i recorded the entirety (guitar tracks only) of FTB...but uh. i was drunk. and it's very sloppy. and my friend who was recording was also drunk. haha i'll work on a better version

hetfieldfan86 09-23-2006 04:22 PM

So what do you guys think of the new song?

MRDuCran 09-23-2006 05:57 PM

I don't think we need to go through that again.

CODEblackDRUMMER 09-23-2006 11:06 PM

I think you'll end up being the only one in the thread if we do what you propose.

metalhead_matt 09-24-2006 10:39 AM

Record what you want, that's the rules.

As I've said before, this can't really take off unless we get drum tracks. I not repeating myself to put pressure on the drummers at all because I totally understand that they're busy but we need to find a way around it. We should either ask in the drum forum or use programmed drums.

ghettoeddo 09-24-2006 12:14 PM

is there a program where you can do that?

antoher alternative is to just...record over the actual song. if you balance it right, you'll hear the drums maybe a bit of the vox but that's it

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 12:17 PM

No way, that'd sound crap tbh.

You can program drums in Beatcraft and use the samples from Drum Kit from Hell, listen to Meshuggah's last album Catch 33, all the drums you hear were programmed with dkfh.

ghettoeddo 09-24-2006 12:33 PM

haha do those cost money?

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 12:36 PM

Heh, they should do...

<_<

ghettoeddo 09-24-2006 12:45 PM

NNNOOOOOOOOOOO i is apoorcollegestudent

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 01:09 PM

You wouldn't need to worry, I have them both but hopefully that method won't be needed.

MrSigma 09-24-2006 01:15 PM
So what do you guys think of the new song?
I think its alright. too long though. i think getting rid of bob douche rock and getting a drunken indian in their band was a good idea though. This cd has potential to be good.

Lionheart1827 09-24-2006 05:42 PM

If you guys need programmable drum tracks, just ask me, I have the entire guitar pro library on my pc, that includes all of metallicas songs.:thumb:

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 05:59 PM

Yeah me too but we wouldn't play over GP tabs, midi sucks.

Lionheart1827 09-24-2006 06:35 PM
Yeah me too but we wouldn't play over GP tabs, midi sucks.
I know it does, but my recording didnt come out too bad and that was GP. I just dont have the time to sit for days on end making drums for the songs when I can just get a meh quality version.:thumb:

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 07:51 PM

That's where I come in handy (/has no life).

Heh, as I said, hopefully it won't come to that though and we'll be able to use actual drum tracks for each recording. I'm seriously considering just going over to the drum forum and asking there. Unless any of us know any sick drummers with recording equipment etc, it's our only option if we want them, keeping in mind that the two dudes here that have already said they'd do something are very busy people.

Maybe I'm being too picky about all of this?

Chu 09-24-2006 08:00 PM

Please ask in the drum forum. :)

MRDuCran 09-24-2006 08:35 PM

Done.

just use programmed drums as a guide track for now, thats probably the only way were gonna get anywhere

ghettoeddo 09-25-2006 09:45 AM

again...anywhere i can get a drum track program? i cant bittorrent or use P2P because my school has bandwidth limits and they're watching me real close cuz i went over a few times.

MRDuCran 09-25-2006 10:19 AM

Do it at home?

Kosmos Tree 09-25-2006 04:18 PM

Hi, invasion from the drum forums ;)
I'm following the call for drum recordings - my band is playing a Cliff-Burton tribute next week and we play the whole Puppets album so i'm pretty tight with it and would offer to record a song. I'm open for suggestions, but i wouldn't like to do Disposable Heroes (the song doesn't flow as good as the others on the album and it's my least favourite)
Let me know what you guys want and i'll get started as soon as possible :)

Chu 09-25-2006 09:10 PM
