If you guys can't find a drummer are you allowed to use FruityLoops or something?

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-08-2006 03:44 PM

Anybody wanna help me out with some Zappa, ive been in a major Zappa mood and im bored of the stuff i have right now

i have: Sheik Yer Bouti, One Size Fits All, The Grand Wazoo, Hot Rats, and Apostrophe

Also, i got a new Zappa bootleg today, anybody want it?

JonG 01-08-2006 03:45 PM

What do you want?

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-08-2006 03:59 PM

Anything from him, lol, i jsut want some more Zappa:)

JonG 01-08-2006 04:01 PM

Heh. Ok.

thickasabrick 01-08-2006 04:36 PM

You guys should do Tombstone Blues. Heh heh, mainly because I'm listening to it right now.

I have a question for you guys. Judging by what you know about me from this site...do any of you think I might have a drug problem? I'm starting to get worried about myself. I dunno.

MidnightRider 01-08-2006 04:51 PM

hey JonG, could you hit me up with that Zappa too?

And does anyone know what the deal with The Pit is right now?

Jacaranda 01-08-2006 04:54 PM

Read the community thread. Jom basically summed it up.

thickasabrick: No not at all. It sounds like you do alot of pot and some psychedelics, I see no drug problems here. A drug problem would be things like coc, acohol (too much drinking is a problem), X, meth, bars...etc and it doesn't sound like you do any of those. I don't see a problem with weed and psychedelics such as shrooms, acid, morning glory..etc I just really wouldn't consider that a drug problem. To others though it may appear that you do have a problem but some people just don't understand psychedelics (and the people who do them).

I want to join in this whole recording business but this man does not own no mic. Nor does he have any money (or a job where he can obtain money) to go out and retrieve one.

Play 'Mountain Jam'.....

I really want this...how is it?

pigonthewing82 01-08-2006 05:12 PM

Who in here has heard Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Review live album? I picked it up the other day its really good. I own all of Dylans official live albums as well as a number of bootlegs and this is what I feel to be his best. I never realized how well some of his songs like Knocking on Heavens Door worked with a violin in the band.

MidnightRider 01-08-2006 05:12 PM

Hey Schyma, I might as well ask you since you seem to know quite a bit about it, what exactly is morning glory? Is it easier to attain than say shrooms?

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-08-2006 05:13 PM

there seeds, a bunch of my friends get them from my local grocery store, its extremely easy to obtain

thickasabrick 01-08-2006 05:23 PM
Hey Schyma, I might as well ask you since you seem to know quite a bit about it, what exactly is morning glory? Is it easier to attain than say shrooms?
I could answer this question. Morning Glory is a type of flower, it's seeds contain a drug called LSA. The effects of LSA are very similar to LSD in higher doses, in lower doses the effects are often compared more exctacy, or just an extremely intense marijuana high. Morning Glory seeds are legal in most parts of the world, although the extracts of pure LSA might be considered illegal (that's usually how it is with most legal drugs).

It is easier for most people to obtain Morning Glory than Psilocybe Mushrooms because Morning Glory seeds can be found at almost any plant/flower shop. They can be ordered from a lot of different sites, such as salviasupply.com and are a lot cheaper than mushrooms (unless you pick the mushrooms yourself, like Schyma)...plus you can get same day delivery from most sites. Where I live, Saskatchewan, Magic Mushrooms are extremely hard to find in the winter too...and they are about 20 bucks for a decent dosage. Morning Glory is about 5 bucks or less for an extremely high dosage.

Most people who are familiar with taking LSD prefer LSD because it is cheaper and by weight is about 10 times more powerful than LSA, and LSD lasts longer and doesn't give you "nausea"....but I don't remember the last time someone was able to order 10 hits of pure/safe acid from a website with a 100% money back guarantee and without worrying about the "the law."

If you want more information just ask...I sometimes don't feel comfortable discussing drugs in such great detail on this site because it is still considered "illegal" and I don't wanna get in trouble, and because of what happened to Amanda before.

MidnightRider 01-08-2006 05:31 PM

Wow thank you, that covers just about every question I had about them.

What dosage would you need to take to get the full effect?

I love that album. Great singing by Dylan and playing by the whole band. Mick Ronson is a great guitarist. The reunion with Joan Baez was cool too. Thickasabrick hates it.

Edit- Is anyone else's last.fm screwed up? Mine says I only listened to CCR two times, but I just listened to the whole Down on the Corner album yesterday afternoon. I also listened to CSNY at least 3 times this week and it says I listened to them 11 times. Something's not quite right here.

thickasabrick 01-08-2006 05:38 PM
Wow thank you, that covers just about every question I had about them.
Haha no problem. Are you considering trying them, or are you just curious?

The only Dylan I've ever heard and not been 100% pleased with is that Live '75 album. God that bothered me. I'm assuming that's what you guys are talking about.

MidnightRider 01-08-2006 05:42 PM

I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to shrooms, pretty much.

/has no job

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-08-2006 05:42 PM

ughh, his voice after 69 went downhill IMO, you need to hear his stuff from the 60's, way better then the 70's stuff

I've heard just about everything that Bob Dylan ever recorded, and I'm sure that everyone has heard his sixties work. And I'd agree that his sixties stuff is better than his seventies stuff but I'm still a huge fan of Live '75.

Edit- Pigs, have you read the liner notes that come with the cd? That's some good, informative stuff.

JonG 01-08-2006 06:52 PM

Midnight Rider: What's your e-mail address?

Schyma: I haven't listened to it yet, but I bet it's pretty good.

Midnight Rider: Go to erowid.com, they have pretty in depth pictures, information about almost every drug.

I'm interested in Morning Glory, Shrooms and LSD myself.

Glitterati 01-08-2006 07:15 PM

So, yeah, if you like Bob Dylan or Neil Young, check out Joni Mitchell. I've been listening to her a lot lately.

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-08-2006 07:18 PM

Morning Glory seeds are so awesome, the first time i tried them i had the most insane trip, everything was was like a greenish tint and there was like this vibrant purplish colour shape covering the sky, it was so insane, all the trips after that havent been as good.

Blue is very good.

NP: Kraftwerk - Antenna, kinda creepy song. Crazy Germans.

Krabsworth 01-08-2006 07:27 PM

Woah. With Politics and Indie gone, I only lost 77 posts :p

zabbit82 01-08-2006 07:34 PM

!!

Alternative and Indie is gone???? The threads of bands many I like exist no more....

Jacaranda 01-08-2006 07:35 PM

No, just Politics. I have a good 500 posts in Alt/Indie and EMH has quiet a few also, and both our post counts look normal.

zabbit82 01-08-2006 07:38 PM

Excuse me for my stupidity (no idea whats going on) but are the admins fixing it up or something? When I clicked on the link, it required a password to go any further...

Jacaranda 01-08-2006 07:40 PM

Long story short Chad (Local Hacker) got morrissey's account (supermod) and then he jerked off to this, then caused havok (changed all new thread names, to "lol" in Alt/Indie and Pit. Closed lots of threads and in general just dicked around)

ATM 01-08-2006 07:41 PM

Yea, the admins are taking care of it.

zabbit82 01-08-2006 07:42 PM

Gotcha....

I would hate to see half the music I love go threadless

Jacaranda 01-08-2006 07:43 PM

Too bad he didn't delete the ACDC thread.

zabbit82 01-08-2006 07:45 PM

Yeah. IMO all thier stuff sounds the same exept for a few things off of Back In Black. Not a fan...

Sweet... just realized this is page 1800 of the CR thread.

/random

JonG 01-08-2006 07:46 PM

That would've been funny if he would've deleted the emo community thread.

zabbit82 01-08-2006 07:50 PM

That would be hilarious in a terrible way

thickasabrick 01-08-2006 08:18 PM
What dosage would you need to take to get the full effect?
Depends what kind of effects you want. 100-200 is a good dosage for parties. Over 250 and you're starting to get more into a full out "trip." The other day I ate somewhere in the range of 250-300 seeds, and everything was swirling around, the lightbulbs turned into huge waterfalls, there were little goblin guys dancing on the ceiling etc...but some people eat like 700 seeds. I can't imagine what that would be like. If you don't smoke pot, it's more of a mental trip, the second you smoke pot...visuals become very strong. And the more pot you smoke, the more intense the visuals (from what I gather). Have you went to Erowid yet? If not, you might wanna go there.

I love Dylan's mid-seventies albums, Blood on the Tracks and Desire are two of my favourite albums by him. But for some reason I absolutely hate Live '75. It's mostly just his singing voice, and what he did to most of the songs. Most people would say his 60's albums are better, but it all depends on what kind of music you are into I suppose.

pigonthewing82 01-08-2006 08:29 PM
Edit- Pigs, have you read the liner notes that come with the cd? That's some good, informative stuff.
Yeah I love the Bootleg Series the liner notes have so much information. I also think they are Dylan's best work. I think he was FAR better live, and the bootleg series is the best representation of him live. There was a definite change in Dylans voice after his motercycle accident. I like his early voice better, though on some songs his latter voice I think works better.

jpj 01-08-2006 08:30 PM

I don't really care for Desire other than a couple of tracks like Hurricane, but I love Blood on the Tracks. I almost bought a 3 CD set thing that had Freewheelin', The Times They Are A-Changin', and I think Another Side of Bob Dylan, but I opted for DP 22 because I have all those albums on mp3.
