That's not a good reason to legalize them j/s, nobody needs one, their purpose is to kill, that's why they're limited to the military.
I love to go out to a shooting range with automatic weapons. There is nothing better than firing an assault rifle on a range. Lots of people do it, and illegalizing it only makes it so that law abiding citizens dont have it while criminals wont care anyways.

adb 10-29-2008 08:49 PM

it already is illegal js
owning a fully auto would be ridiculous for hunting and completely ruin the point of target shooting.

Just because someone wants to collect them doesn't mean we should make them legal, think of a better reason.
I said something really similar to this in my 3 minute presentation, got a A- on it

Angmar 10-29-2008 08:49 PM

True, sadly.

Iluvatar 10-29-2008 08:54 PM

I am legally allowed to own an automatic weapon in the state of Florida. I am unsure of what states have complete bans on them, but only certain types of automatic weapons are banned nationwide. There are a few new Bans floating around congress that will unfortunately probably be enacted after the elections (the one thing I hate about Obama is his atrocious stance on the 2nd Amendment),.

Angmar 10-29-2008 09:04 PM

I prefer to be called moderate with liberal leans thank you, although as time goes by I seem to get more liberal.

Deth 10-29-2008 09:06 PM

I'm liberal as **** but I'm passed the age where I feel I have to force my opinions on everyone else, and I'm much happier for it.

On social issues at least, liberalism is like...the epitome of not forcing your opinions on anyone.

Also, the second amendment is not just "the right to bear arms" so I find it so lolzy americans get all anxious about their right to own guns.

Iluvatar 10-29-2008 09:19 PM

The thing is I'm also afraid of what Obama will do with our military =/. I hope its not another Clinton thing

Permanent Solution 10-29-2008 09:21 PM

I hope he disarms the whole country and then the terrorists come in and kill all the americans

Well in my experience liberals (college liberals anyway) are much more prone to start arguments about someone's point of view. I know I was that way for most of high school.

I know that liberalism in theory is basically live and let live, but on a personal basis, I don't think this is as true.

gmoneyguy 10-29-2008 09:23 PM

arguments just annoy the **** out of me now.

Dimmu Burger 10-29-2008 09:24 PM

Aiight guys I'm off. Cya!

But I don't discredit heavy metal just because a ton of fags listen to it. I respect it for the content and don't care about the fans (who suck).

Well yeah, I'm a liberal. I'm just saying in my experience, liberals are more prone to question other people's opinions on things. Like how Atheists like to start **** with Christians.

Moon Flavor 10-29-2008 09:30 PM

So I used to have this real conservative friend it was fun to debate with but then he became a single issue guy, and the issue was abortion, so now he sort of sucks to talk to about interesting things. Sad.

My favorite day was when he was like "So you like to kill babies?" when I said I was pro abortion and I said "Yes. =)"

@Deth: Yeah no I agree, I'm just saying that people suck basically. Ideas are good though.

Deth 10-29-2008 09:32 PM

ugh single issue people are annoying as hell

Angmar 10-29-2008 09:34 PM

I like getting into arguments with people about gay marriage, typically their only argument is "keeping the sanctity of marriage" when there's way more issues supporting it, i don't have many friends against it though, even the more conservative ones.

Iluvatar 10-29-2008 09:34 PM

conservatives are just as prone to question other peoples opinions on things. it depends on where you live.

Permanent Solution 10-29-2008 09:36 PM

On a related note to conservatism, I think I may be finding god.

I was starting to get poor and then last week while on my trip I got an email that was like "Hello, you are getting $7000 from us for being awesome. Congratulations." srsly, someone is watching out for me.
