"Can't believe this username was open"...haha, nice.
I wonder if he got flamed, seeing as after 138 whole pages he responded to the first post. For shame... I really would have put Arlo Guthrie on my list, because he's a really cool cat. I really love that song, and "Highway in the Wind" is really beautiful too. But I like any of his versions of that song, not just Woodstock. Alot of bands really stepped it up at the festival, like Santana and Sly and the Family Stone and such. |
Mine was stupid, I looked like i was illiterate
|
Haha Badmoon was always a genious
:) |
I think I just kinda slid into the conversation and then eventually asked for some moe. reccomendations
|
Guitarguy??? :amaze:
What has made you decide to grace us with your presence?? Welcome back, where you been man? |
Working, getting tattoes, jamming out, etc
|
I seriously doubt that. Bach was a musical genious, but (as much as I love the beatles) The beatles have nothing on bach in theory and the progression of music as a whole. I think a jazz composer would have much more of an influence.
that's a really good point. rakmarimov and bach and beethoven were all incredible talents and are significant influences on modern music. but the beatles have the kind of massive musical legacy that even years from now, people are going to want to see what the fuss is about. to me, 'adagio for strings' and 'yesterday' are both beautiful, heart-rending songs, but for different reasons. to me, composers will always be remembered for their virtuoisty and innovation, but the beatles will be remembered for their ability to write wonderful, wonderful tunes. |

Ya I agree, but its the instumental compostion that lasts, because lyrical music existed back in their time, but you never hear anything about it today |

Since when do you post? I think in my first post I responded to someone that said Plant was a Mick Jagger clone, or something like that. Top 5 songs from Woodstock: ----------------------------- 1. Country Joe-I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag 2. Jefferson Airplane-Uncle Sam Blues 3. Arlo Guthrie-Coming Into Los Angeles 4. CSN-Suite: Judy Blue Eyes 5. Canned Heat-Going Up the Country |
My first post was :
Many consider Exile on Main Street to be the best. I just wasted so much time finding that. |
I'm listening to The Traveling Wilburies Vol. 3 right now. They pwn. Sometime this week I am going to go to Coconuts and search for that on CD because right now I only have it on my computer. Coconuts has the biggest cd selection of any store around here, so I will have to search through there used cds. I need to own this album. I already have vol. 1 on cd.
I like Vol. 3 equally as much as Vol. 1, those albums really are awesome. They're great when you want to listen to a CD straight through and enjoy every second. I got a Russian CD that has both Vol. 1 & 3 on it, I listen to that thing straight through a lot. |
Hey look, it's Ray's old account!

I think my 2nd 3rd post involved asking Badmoon or Lunch if they had any Sigur Ros
I only remember Badmoon, Lunch, Woodstock, Livewired and DeusExmachina from the early days |
I was back there with 'em
Jefferson Airplane is my jam! |
As was I, I guess we're not cool enough :upset:
what happened to thick as a brick, and rock not roll, and livewire
Thickasabrick still posts, so does Livewired (though not as much as he used to). RNR just came back after a long break. Badmoon is an old hippie. He just pretends to be a teenager because he gets off on it. |
