Set up the chairs, then take them down.

Definitely worth it. Assuming CSN still puts on a pretty good show.

They are playing at this tiny marine museum, so I think it would be awesome.
Most new music is so unoriginal and it all sounds the same.
I think Led Zeppelin is the best band ever, but i dont mean to overshadow all the other great classic rock bands you guys have been talking about.....The Who, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, etc........
Also I play drums and drummers back then were great....Bonzo, Mitchell, Ginger Baker and Keith Moon.

Classic rock is awesome
Going through the thread and found this.

I just scored a Django Reinhardt and Al Di Meola album for free. :D

Free Django pwns

I tried to find my first post but failed miserably. Maybe it's around 600 but it's not like you can search back that far, I think it cuts off 2 months ago

JonG 08-01-2005 07:16 PM

Does anybody happen to have Four Way Street and willing to upload the second disc?

Pleaseeeeee

They were being incredibly annoying. Blabbing the entire show, we couldn't even hear Teach Your Children. They were on their cell-phones trying to find someone that they knew that was there, and talking the entire time. We could barely hear them.

My first post is on page 1290 if I remember right. I don't really feel like searching for it.

Haha, I don't even want to see mine. I'm probably spitting Led Zeppelin bias.

That sounds like these two girls that shoved in front of my friends and at a concert, and then kept on taking pictures of eveyone, and themselves, and the concert, then proceeding to call everyone they know, gesturing wildly and giggleing. They calmed down once they had some weed though
Then A fat old lady did the same thing behind us, then some drunk guy came and stood in front of me, and then this short/fat/greasy/old/bald man kept on following me around, but besides that it was alot of fun. Especially when these hippies in Mexican blankets (the woman looked like Rousseau in Lost) kept on cleansing this guy's aura that was standing in front of us

/unnecesarily long story

"To those of you who rock...I salute you"

You all rock. You are right. Rock is on the comback. Although at my school it is a small majority. GO THE YARDBIRDS AND ZEPPELIN. THE RAMONES. DEEP PURPLE. THE EAGLES. ERIC CLAPTON. THE WHO, THE DOORS AND ALL THOSE I FORGOT WHO ROCK (the beatles suck dude).

I think it is bnads like ac/dc and the darkness which are very similar to the old rock styles. As well as some of the old bands like the eagles and deep purple and the who are haveing tours(eagles last tour ...cant wait). And franz ferdinand is gonna get very big soon i rekon ...hes really good.
You make sound like every high schooler that enjoys classic rock hates the Beatles you know they started all. SO NO the Beatles dont suck you suck!!
I'm listening to The Traveling Wilburies Vol. 3 right now. They pwn. Sometime this week I am going to go to Coconuts and search for that on CD because right now I only have it on my computer. Coconuts has the biggest cd selection of any store around here, so I will have to search through there used cds. I need to own this album. I already have vol. 1 on cd.

Which is the better of the two? I or III?

drugstore cowboy 08-01-2005 08:33 PM

I think, in the spirit of High Fidelity, we need more Top Five polls in this thread.

Top Five songs from Woodstock

1. The Who - Sparks
2. Sly and the Family Stone - Dance to the Music/Music Lover/Take you Higher. I count them as one song, because they connected them all, basically.
3. Santana - Soul Sacrifice (Drummer Micheal Shrieve, what a tank)
4. Joe Cocker - With a Little Help from my Friends
5. Ten Years After - Goin' Home. That's my underdog pick.

Bernie812 08-01-2005 08:35 PM

ever since i was 13 i started working with construction workers, playing local classic rock radio stations constatly, ive been hooked since...

/first post trend

zekterellium 08-01-2005 08:44 PM

beatles have always been immensely popular, and i'm noticing nowadays a trend or ironic metal bands citing bands like zeppelin and the clash as influences, so at some point someone is obviously gonna look past mtv and at the people that instigated it all. good music stands forever, and centuries from now people will be looking at the beatles the same way that we look at bach.

Speaking of Woodstock.........
Hello Thread, before you flame me for my first post :upset: , I just want to let you know that I have read allllllll 138 pages of this forum. And I must say I agree with classic rock being the best genre out there. The only problem is that all my friends only like the basic bands. I'm getting in much deeper to CSN&Y, Grateful Dead, Derek and the Dominoes and other under appreciated bands  .Anyways,.....what Allman Brothers Band album would you reccomend.

3. Star Spangled Banner - Jimi Hendrix
4. I'm Going Home - Ten Years After
5. With a Little Help from my Friends - Joe Cocker

I seriously doubt that. Bach was a musical genious, but (as much as I love the beatles) The beatles have nothing on bach in theory and the progression of music as a whole. I think a jazz composer would have much more of an influence.
