i should really get around to reading Ullyses by Joyce but i'm too snowed under with reading at the moment. and i always get put off for some reason
what's the deal with the last 50 or so pages of that book being only 1 sentence? if i remember correctly (noth that i've read the book, but i know some about it, and i have it) isn't it all just thoughts of people and has to do with how sporadic the mind is? correct me if i'm wrong. i would like to read it sometime, too. |
If you switch the pasive on then the bass acts like a pasive isnt it? But, it will need batteries... *confused*
|
(My question is still up: Anyone know how does it work the pasive/active switch on a Tribute G&L 2000?)
The lowest toggle switch on the bass, closest to the bridge is the Active/Passive switch. The position closest to you while you are playing is passive. the middle one is active and the position farthest from you is active with high EQ. |
ARGH!!! i did that for my AS level and i hated every single page of it!!
i'm not too keen on feminist literature full stop but thats just me it is a very clever and thought provoking book, i just hated doing it for my A levels
I have to say (doing it for my A-levels) i don't particularly like the book, a bit too extreme, but it's very well written, and thought provoking, which is why i recommended it, i'm sure someone would be interested... |
Yes, with passive on the batteries are no longer necessary. They're only there for the active preamp.

correct me if i'm wrong. i would like to read it sometime, too.
yeah, Joyce is famous for his Modernism 'stream of consciousness' writing style. i've read 'A Portrait of the Artists as a Young Man' and thats just really weird and random D@MN MODERNISTS!!! |
The next person to change their avatar to something christmassy/kwaanzay/whatever is getting negative rep from me. This is absolutly getting out of hand and avatarly challanged people like me are starting to get pissed. /rant
No offence, Mitchell Scrooge, but your rep is only worth a couple of points, that's not going to threaten anyone. Lighten up! If it offends you THAT much you can choose not to have avatars displayed. |
yeah so i just had a big row with my drummer, and now i have quit the band!

i know what u mean, its just i truly despise the teacher i had during my AS levels. he once insulted my girlfriend and i threatened to cut his thorat....it all got a bit out of hand :upset: |
Hmmmm my teacher's pretty awesome, but kinda a feminist so it's a bit silly sometimes...
|
feminism tends to cross the line of equality and stupidity sometimes.
|
Nice
Very helpful, again I think I know which would be my next bass... you know? ;) |
i've never liked doing feminist critical theory, it always seems as though its far too contrived, like they're purposefully looking for patriachy where it doesn't exist
someone should buy them a razor and tell them to chill :thumb: |
I'm in the spirit now.
|
"God bless us, everyone" :D
|
I think maschism (sp?) is still alive because of the feminist
|
I think maschism (sp?) is still alive because of the feminist
Mmmmm quite possibly, masochism is often spurred on as a durect response to radical feminism... |
masochim or machoism?
|
Indeed, masochism is pretty much the same as feminism. One couldnt exist without the other.
|
u mean taking pleasure from having pain inflicted upon you? that's masochism
|
no no no
machism or however is spelled ¿?¿?¿?¿?¿ |
machoism, being macho and overly 'male'
|
Masochism is where a male believes males are above females e.g. if someone is being masochistic...
|
machoism, being macho and overly 'male'
*shrug* either way you know what we mean :p  |
no, sadism and masochism, the pleasure received from inflicting and receiving pain respectively
|
Hmm, since you're a super now Winter, is it possible for you to change my name into Mitchell Scrooge for the holidays? I'd think that would be dandy and I could cope with all the christmas love around here:)
|
yeah, i gotcha :thumb:
|
mmm you are confusing me but I think I agree with ELKapitan
I mean Machoism, the male thing for Feminism isnt it? |
people always used to ask me if i was a masochist...i would laugh and say yes.
|
...then they'd run up and kick u in the balls?
