Win A Rabbit 02-17-2008 11:23 PM

I was at a car museum today, and normally I'm not a huge car fan, but the cars there were amazing.

They had one from the 30's, and they restored the right side and kept the left side original, was really cool.

Probably around 300 cars/trucks/tractors/planes/other. Was awesome.

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-17-2008 11:24 PM

Nice.

Tho I must say 70's cars>all other cars

Win A Rabbit 02-17-2008 11:25 PM

From their website:

Our collection contains more than 350 vehicles, over 70 vintage aircraft, more than 1000 pieces of agricultural equipment and a growing collection of road building, heavy construction and surface mining equipment.

The highlights of our collection:

* 1929 Duesenburg Phaeton Royale Model J: one-of-a-kind
* 1913 Chevrolet Classic Six: the oldest known production Chevrolet in the world
* 1928 American Eagle biplane: the only surviving Canadian example
* 1943 Staggerwing: a high performance personal use aircraft
* 1870 Gaar 8 Horsepower Portable Steam Engine: our oldest piece
* 1908 International Harvester Company gasoline traction engine: outstanding restoration

German made sports car, gets anywhere from 50-117 mpgs (depending on model and if there's a second passenger).

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-17-2008 11:33 PM

Thats ugly. I mean no matter what fancy stuff it does. Its damn ugly

Win A Rabbit 02-17-2008 11:47 PM

So there's a provincial election coming up, and I'm reading over all the parties' platforms, and I don't like any of them.

But I feel obligated to vote.

Lesser of evils I guess.

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-17-2008 11:48 PM

The one that in theory could make you more money:D lol

Chippy569 02-17-2008 11:53 PM

there are very, very few cars whose design I truly love. Here are 4.

ok i realize they're both Petty's cars. But their design is simply gorgeous!

the car I almost bought:

Win A Rabbit 02-17-2008 11:53 PM

The representative here is a real good guy, but he's a conservative (have run the province for 37 years), so a vote for him is a vote for the party I probably like the least.

So that sucks. He's done a lot of good, but the rest of his party have fucked things up.

Decisions decisions.

I also feel obligated, even though it would take a miracle for our member not to be a PC.
Whats the news on that concert?
April 26, in Beaumont. It's called Victrola. From 2:00-10:00 hopefully. $5 admission. (I wanted to keep it at $1 or $2, but everyone else wanted to bring in more money for our cause)

I don't know which bands have confirmed yet, so nothing to report there.

After our next meeting we should have posters up, once I get a list of confirmed bands, etc.

And one person in our group was supposed to contact Sonic, so we might get some promotion on there hopefully.

Electric Requiem 02-18-2008 12:50 AM

I believe thats right in the middle of finals, so it might be tough to make it, but I'll try and get a bunch of people to come. You can probably get CJSR to advertise it as well once you have the band list together.

Ill Mitch 02-18-2008 02:43 AM

So I saw the Bad Plus on Saturday. It was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time.

I'm also seeing Bela Fleck and the Flecktones with the Seattle Symphony in a week. :)
