That album is alright but...what's that album, eh...A Momentary Lapse of Reason was alright.

rustysurf84 08-06-2007 09:38 PM

Wish You Were Here has my vote, but I'd imagine that's a bit unpopular seeing the posts above me

Leper 08-06-2007 10:48 PM
Ummagumma is their best album and Atom Heart Mother is pretty good.
What about Ummagumma do you like so much?

Dragon_Prince 08-08-2007 06:24 AM

I am getting Wet Dream on vinyl ... So who's jealous?

Riva 08-08-2007 06:50 AM

You mean like the original Wet Dream vinyl? In great condition? That is sitting on the desk near me? :p

Dragon_Prince 08-08-2007 06:54 AM

Don't ruin my fun :P

Gonads 08-10-2007 09:44 PM

Which Pink Floyd album would you guys recommend to a newbie? I only own Delicate Sound of Thunder and I prefer disc one over two most of the time and I like Shine on you Crazy Diamond a lot and Sorrow and the epic song's.
What about Ummagumma do you like so much?
The amazing live material that surpasses studio versions, the unbridled creativity and beauty of songs like Grantchester Meadows, the fact that it has Careful With That Axe, Eugene, and the fact that saying Ummagumma is their best really pisses off a lot of the regs in this thread :D

Animals>all Floyd

Apocalyptic Raids 08-11-2007 12:42 AM

Animals isn't that good.

Angmar 08-11-2007 12:45 AM

Oh but it is!

Eliminator 08-11-2007 12:47 AM

nope its pretty terrible.

Angmar 08-11-2007 12:49 AM

I didn't know you though that...

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-11-2007 10:25 AM

This, Wish You Were Here, or Dark Side of The Moon.

Animals equals a Waters album in my opinion, Wish You Were Here more of a Gilmour album, and Dark Side is a Gilmour/Waters album.

sound wise, that is.

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-11-2007 03:29 PM

DSOTM is overrated imo. I'd give it a 7/10

Jacaranda 08-11-2007 03:30 PM

I'd give it 5/10 on a good day. Booorrrinng.

Danger Bird 08-11-2007 06:16 PM

Animals sucks

Dark isn't their best but it's a far cry from being a bad album.

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-11-2007 07:36 PM

gtfo of this thread then.

I don't understand you at all.

:p

Seriously though, I don't.

I'd give Animals and Darkside both 9/10.

I wouldn't argue with that.

Riva 08-12-2007 03:14 AM

Have A Cigar is a Waters song though, I feel.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-12-2007 03:15 AM

Especially lyrics-wise.

Riva 08-12-2007 03:16 AM

Yes. And Roy Harper sounds like Roger, alsol

What is everyone's on Dub Side of the Moon out of curiosity?

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-12-2007 11:20 AM

I thought it was decent when I gave it a listen last year.

Lunch 08-12-2007 11:21 AM

I really like it.

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-12-2007 11:24 AM

how do you feel about the radiodread album?

Lunch 08-12-2007 11:26 AM

Well I think Radiohead sucks so I have no real interest in it

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-12-2007 11:28 AM

you make me feel sad inside my tummy :(

Leper 08-13-2007 05:10 PM

Radiohead = Pink Floyd of the 90's

The used music store I go to had The Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A all for a total of fifteen bucks. Sadly, I could not even afford the cheapest of the three :upset:

Kage 08-13-2007 05:16 PM

You're pretty behind if you haven't heard those yet.

Lunch 08-13-2007 05:17 PM

Yea but you aren't missing much

Leper 08-13-2007 05:18 PM

Is there a race or something?
Yea but you aren't missing much
Watch it, you're starting to sound like that hooligan Pink Freud.

Yield 08-13-2007 05:19 PM
You're pretty behind if you haven't heard those yet.
Well considering how the way my progression of music has been:

Pink Floyd > Prog > Grunge > Jazz.

Everything has kind of stopped at jazz. I'm sure Radiohead should've been in there, I just haven't checked them out yet.
