Yeah, I know all there songs now so it'd be cool to see them live again. I saw them on the 8V tour. Still, they played nearly the whole album and the set was awful because of that, they didn't play much of the older stuff like I&W and Awake. I would have enjoyed more stuff off FII aswell but they played loads of boring 8V instead. 8V was the only good song they played off the album apart from TROAE which was an awsome opener.

Deth 12-21-2005 07:57 PM

Awake, because my bass teacher lent me the CD so I could learn Scarred and 6:00. I didn't think too much of it at first but after a while I put it back on and really enjoyed it.

IbanezSamurai 12-21-2005 08:25 PM

Celebrating the very last show of Dream Theater's 20th Anniversary Tour 2005/2006, this very special Grand Finale will be recorded and filmed for an upcoming 20th Anniversary DVD & CD release.

..... And I am not going to be there!@#$#$%^$%& :( :( :(

Deth 12-21-2005 08:26 PM

I think that DT kind of go overboard with the live releases. It's like every album or two.

Shattered_Future 12-21-2005 08:36 PM

Almost like the recent Maiden live album trend...

I have almost all of DT's studio stuff (only one I don't have is FII), and I didn't buy any of it.

I want to get LSFNY, simply because they do all of SFAM and A Change Of Seasons live.

Deth 12-21-2005 08:41 PM

Yeah, but Maiden is doing the older tours. They have done two consecutive live albums, but they aren't as bad. Plus it's not like they're doing the entire albums.

ghettoeddo 12-21-2005 09:35 PM

another DT live CD?

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. i don't care whether it's overboard or not at this point :] more dream theater = good in my opinion.

8vm isn't THAT bad. i personally like answer lies within more than like...hollow years.

IbanezSamurai 12-21-2005 11:09 PM

Today I was on the airplane coming from Orlando, when the plane was up in the sky and the flight assistant said we can now use our electronic devices, the guy who was sitting next to me, in his late 20's I assume, got out his cd player and put on SFAM cd! he was playing it real loud that even people in the back could hear it, but I thought it was really cool to see another DT fan. It was funny to see him doing the double bass drum with his feet and air guitar with his hands :D

pizzapie88 12-22-2005 02:36 AM

My first was DT cd was scenes from a memory. I brought it because of all the talk/hype they get on here. True Story.

BaconSandwich 12-22-2005 03:41 AM
Don't get me wrong i love dream theater!! But they'd be so much better with a different vocalist and better lyrics, their vocalist and lyrics are their downfall. I mean the drumming and guitar work is spectacular to say the least
Yea i have to agree, Dt is up there with my fav bands, but when James LaBrie starts singing, its hard to sit through it sometimes
Although its not thats hes a bad singer, far from it, he hits the notes quite well actually. His singing voice, however, is extremely annoying. And yea, their lyrics are lacking, but i spose all in all its what makes dream theater, along with the singer, unique. Without them they would sound completely different.

BaconSandwich 12-22-2005 03:43 AM

jees i must have been looking a bit far back eh

BaconSandwich 12-22-2005 03:46 AM

Hahahahahaha First Page Back Whoa Im Stupid!

ValeOfShadows 12-22-2005 04:47 AM

Jev 12-22-2005 06:27 AM

I've decided that because I don't own any DT dvds I'm going to buy one.
What's the best one to get?

ValeOfShadows 12-22-2005 06:56 AM

Iv heard that live at bodukan is the best.

NP: One of the worst songs iv ever heard.

i say Budokan, just because of the 6DOIT songs and Stream of Consciencness. War inside my head/The test that stumped them all is so awesome.

Scenes from New York is also good, since it has Learning to live and ACOS, but i prefer Budokan.

Jev 12-22-2005 08:23 AM

Hmm SOC live on Budokan?
Yeah I'm getting that.

GenuineImitation 12-22-2005 10:59 AM

You'll be happy (pardon the pun) with it. The production, both video and sound, is excellent.

Deth 12-22-2005 12:07 PM

Plus on Disc 2 you can watch Instrumedly on multiple angles, meaning 12 minutes of Myung shredding!

GenuineImitation 12-22-2005 02:36 PM
Plus on Disc 2 you can watch Instrumedly on multiple angles, meaning 12 minutes of Myung shredding!
I have never watched it in multiple angles. I think I'll do that later.

Do you have a choice of who to watch?

Firecracker 12-22-2005 02:38 PM

Kill him for it.

I just ordered that one actually. I was looking for the Budokan but they were all American, so they wouldn't play on my DVD player.

The Sandman 12-22-2005 05:20 PM

I think I've seen the Scenes From New York dvd. If I'm remembering the right one then it rocks.

I would buy the Budokan one but it's too expensive...

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 07:21 PM

I borrowed the Budokan DVD from the Library. Free DVDs rule.

I wish they played The Glass Prison. The documentary was pretty cool.

NP: Judas Priest - Night Crawler

I'm sure it's off of the number of the beast album. thanks.

eighty d 12-22-2005 10:42 PM

ghettoeddo 12-23-2005 01:33 AM

Where is he gonna post?
Is "A Change of Seasons" in Bonus Materials of LSFNY?
Yeh. The bonus material on there is A Mind Beside Itself: Erotomania, Voices and The Silent Man. Then Learning To Live and Change of Seasons.
That gig had my dream DT setlist pretty much. Not including SDOIT, ToT and 8va.

Jev 12-23-2005 05:17 AM
Where is he gonna post?
Probably on the DT boards or something. I doubt he'd post here.
