I don't really like it when drummer's sing... I don't know, somehow it bothers me.

It worked for The Eagles. I don't know any other successful bands with drummers that sing.

Does anyone else think on this song (from rude awakenings), that dave just totally mumbles and only like 50% of the singing is actually understandable?

I finally paid that b[B][I][/I][/B]itch for the Rust in Peace book so I should be seeing it in the next few days. I can't wait to nail down five magiks and Take no prisoners.

Those are both my two favorite songs to play. When I'm having just a totally [FONT=Arial]s[/FONT]hit day, a couple runs through each picks me up every time.

It's dodgy I can't play it, it just seems Dave did some random improv of hitting as many notes as he could as fast as possible.

I've decided to try to take up bass so I'm gonna try to learn that awesome bass intro to Peace Sells and maybe some Holy Wars.

I've almost got the intro to Peace Sells down but the middle of the riff is kinda weird. I'll get it down eventually.

Try the bass to My Last Words and Chosen Ones too. Both awesome.

Exactly!!! I've been listening and diggin' some death metal recently (I really like Cannibal Corpse) but I've gotta go back to my thrash roots. I really like what Dave's been doing and his personality has vastly improved for the better. (though the christianity thing I find questionable).

I bought it for the DVD but it sucks cos you can't hear Marty's leads in places and his guitar's too quiet.

Death to the sound guy then. I hate when they mess up the mix. I've seen countless bands that sound great normally, end up sounding like s[B][I][/I][/B]hit thanx to the a[B][I][/I][/B]sshole sitting behind the mixing board.

Yeah I watched the DVD. You can't even hear Marty's solos in Holy Wars, it's like Dave played that entire song by himself.

Does anyone here know how Dave gets his tone in Take No Prisoners? I only have Bass Mid and Treble and I have the BOSS Metal Zone if it helps.

I know that thrash in general you've gotta scoop the mids out. Dave sound like (if he was using a parametric eq) he'd take his mids to 0, I usually put treble to 6 and the bass is cranked. Those are just my interpretation of the thrash tone, not necessarily Daves'.

Dave uses more mids than you'd think. For TNP, I set my EQ to:

Low: 5
Mid: 6
High: 7
Gain: 7

Yea, but for a tone like Countdown or Youthanasia those mids are definitely scooped.
