Devin Davis- Lonely people of the world, unite!!!
So I checked this album out, I really like it. It's good stuff. One of the better albums I've heard so far this year. Really good fun power pop type stuff. Also, I've been digging Aphex Twin today. |

Oh yeah, definitely. They've got some other good ones, but Everlong is easily the best. |
For The Mathematics
Math-rock. Imagine if At The Drive-In and the Mars Volta (I know, they're half the same people) had babies that looked nothing like them. They have one 7-song cd, The New Science. It is tré good. I think they're from Ottawa. Good Songs:redlightexitsignpastiche Delay The Fiasco Tuesday's Fire |
yay for MF Doom

Songs: Ohia

The Walkmen are cool.

I bet it's really pretentious and a lot of people will absolutely hate it, so I would have to be careful when telling someone that I listen to them so they don't roll their eyes back into their sockets with sarcastic excitement. |
The new White Stripes album is very good.
Also listening to Reel Big Fish - Why Do They Rock So Hard? lately. |
I have just been blown away.
I downloaded a few Devin Davis songs from his website after seeing him mentioned here and on allmusic. He is excellent. |
I'm easing myself into Demon Days.
|
Still can't get enough of Team Sleep and Minus the Bear

Anyway, today was an Elliott Smith and Pixies day for me.
I also listened to the VAST album somebody put up in the YSI thread. Put it this way - if The Downward Spiral is The Matrix, VAST's albums are the sequels. |
Time Lapse Consortium have just made themselves known to me, absolute genius.
|
Today I listened to a whole lot of Elliott myself. But I don't even bother to post that anymore, because lately I've been listening to him constantly.
|
I've not really been listening to anything new/noteworthy lately either, so my posting here's been kept to something of a minimum. Or at least it seems so to me.
Incidentally, Iai, did you call yourself Iai for any particular reason? |
Incidentally, Iai, did you call yourself Iai for any particular reason?
Not really. When I first got the internet I went by the name Sephiroth, which I quickly found out was a pretty easy way to have the piss ripped out of you, so I changed it. Iai was basically the first thing I came across that sounded half-decent. I know it's another reference to Final Fantasy, but I forget exactly what. Whatever it is, I've been registered as Iai on every site I've been on for maybe 3 years now. I just like having the same name on every site. |
It reminds me of Bad Brains, which is sort of weird when I read your posts.

So that's who I am, except on the SA forums because I'll be damned if I'm going to behave in the exact same manner on a much stricter/cooler forum. I gotta change  |

In one smooth motion, I think. So I asked. NP Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life |
Back when I registered to my first forum, a gaming one, I went by "ScreechingImpOfTerror." I found out that administrator was bothered by the longness of my name, so I had him change it to "Zappa." I go by "Megatron" or "Frunobulax" everywhere but here, now, though.
|
Where did you get Frunobulax from? Some new guy in R&M (only seen him post once) had the name frunobulaxx, and said it had just popped into his head when I asked.
|
It's the name of a giant poodle from a few Frank Zappa songs. I'm pretty sure Frank also had a pet dog that went simply by "Frunie." It's been a while since I heard that whole story, though. Could be wrong.

Kayo Dot.

Elliott Smith
Thanks for correcting my spelling. I always do that. Not a whole lot has changed since I last posted in here, but I've listened to Ravi Shankar and Red Sparowes to help me write my shit slice essay. |
Kayo Dot.
Nice.
Brainiac - Bonsai Superstar Grant Green - Alive! |
I always thought Iai was your real name.
