I read some of the Gospel of Matthew, the Sermon on the Mount. It's probably my favorite part of the whole Bible, but then I've only really read the first 10 pages of everyone begatting each other and Adam and Eve and all that.

Then, I turned on some evangelical TV and had a huge W-T-F moment.

The first channel was TBN or something, and they were touring the Holy Land Amusement Park or whatever it is, and the woman who was hosting it looked like a cross between Tammy Fae Baker and Dolly Parton, and she was carrying this awful little poodle under her arm and squealing about how wonderful it all was, and going on and on and on about all the wonderful products children could buy.

The second channel turned out to be an infomercial, where for a $50 donation, they would send Muslims Bibles and Jesus t-shirts, and you would get a packet comparing Islam and Christianity so that you could reaffirm your religious superiority.

Then the third channel was a political debate, where they ranting on and on about pornography and the horror of it all.
