^ golfing is probably the easiest sport known to man. seriously. i could give you an 8x10 piece of paper with everything you need to know about golfing, but golf teachers milk you for all you're worth. they'll make you practice one thing over and over each time you come in and pay for a lesson. it's all down to common sense technique.

HazMatBlue 08-17-2005 05:28 PM

i always miss the ball when i try to hit it with the club.

Im sorry but that is the biggest piece of bull**** i've ever heard. Golf is probobly the hardest sport known to man. If u do one tiny thing wrong, if u overswing or underswing by even the smallest thing know to man your shot will be different. If u lift ur head a second too early ur shot if ****ed. I know this, i've played golf for 10 years. It pisses me off when people say the game is easy when all it is is trying to put a ball into a hole. Then why doesnt everybody say bowling is easy, i mean its just throwing a round ball down a lane trying to hit white pins. But i don't know bowling so i dont say it easy. Sorry but i think it was time for me to vent   :upset:

Now im better :)

badminton is harder.

Double Bass Jim 08-17-2005 06:05 PM

Golf is alot harder then most people imagine, i've played golf for years since I was a kid.

Only up until recent years was I able to shoot in the 70's, as I got older I was able to understand how to move and adjust to different shots as a kid I never had tha paitence to learn or listen.
You play?
well, i did, i hope to get on a team again soon, but yes in middle school (yeah im now a sophmore in high school, but i havent lost my abilities) we won the championship, i catch, and thats all i can do, but i do it very well, out pitcher pitched at college level...no one thought anyone would be able to catch her...it was great, i got mvp but im really good(our school doesnt have softball) but umm yeah ive really been wanting to play lately, but everytime i was on a team before, they made me play other positions as well, which i am literally incapable of, so i was angry

oh and yeah the suprisingly part, is usually catchers are on the bigger size, where as im teeny

Win A Rabbit 08-17-2005 06:39 PM

seanman99, ask me a question about golf and i can give you the answer. i was raised with golf my whole life, i've been golfing since i was 3. that's 14 years for me. my dad's a golf pro, he owns a golf course, and i pretty much run the whole maintenance area. everyone on my dad's side golfs regularly, and has for about 30 years. golf is all about technique. here's a little something to prove i know what i'm talking about:

you want to hit the ball farther? don't accelerate your arms (start to move your wrists) until your club is about 3-4 inches from the ball, like a last second movement. too many people bring their wrists in too early in the shot, and are only getting power from their forearms. it will feel extremely awkward at first, but with practice, it will become natural.

practice that and you will add tremendous distance to your game.

well i'm goin out for the night, ask me some questions about golf and i'll answer them.
