Yeah seriously Plastic ONo Band really showcases John's hardcore singing (hah). The screaming at the end of MOther always gives me chills.

Twist and SHout is another example.

But when it comes to the soft singing, I always prefer Lennon's vocals.

And yes I:m a drummer, its the first thing I listen for in a song.
He didnt do it to be famous. I watched something on the life channel yesterday called John Lennon: The Man Who Shot. And Dave Chapman said he did it because of the book the catcher in the rye. He was following the book, and he believed John Lennon was a big phony. It's really messed up.
Oh my I think we were watching the same show, sept for I saw it on the History Channel.

What I ment is he wanted to be remembered for that, he was going to kill himself until he read that book and thought of John as one of the hypocrites in the book. He was very envyous of John and hated him so he decided he'd take Johns' life; to be the man who killed a legend.
But that guy changes his mind on why he did it every 5 years. I remember like when he wanted to get out on parol he said he did it cause he was just plain crazy or something.
Everyone mentions Lennon's "hard rock singing," but I never think of him as the hard rock singer of the group. That title always goes to McCartney, in my opinion.

Mostly because of Helter Skelter I'm guessing?..
Mostly because of Helter Skelter I'm guessing?..
Actually, no. I've always had that opinion, since before I'd ever heard the White Album. I honestly don't know why.

The guy who shot Lennon said he did it to be famous in his last parole hearing. Not sure what he said initially, but that's his most recent reason.

blue3 09-03-2005 09:57 PM

I love John and Paul's voice. I like John's voice more though.

adioviva 09-03-2005 10:18 PM

im really not sure why they knighted paul mcartney. While i have some respect for lennon (more respect for baggin an asian girl, even if it is yoko ono, which in retrospect is really what killed him, but thats another story entirely). mcartney is a hack, and almost every time i hear a song sung by him, or even an interview, i kind of throw up in my mouth....

:chug: all the cool kids drink beer

rockinbass17 09-03-2005 10:20 PM

^^wha........??

Jacaranda 09-03-2005 10:24 PM

All the cool kids make sense. :)

What did Stu _______ die of again? Their first bassist, his last name and death are escaping me right now.

adioviva 09-03-2005 10:25 PM

you see, despite being asian, and therefore more attractive than most normal woman, yoko ono actually used her beautiful asianality to lure lennon into a government trap. as you know, the government was watching lennon, they percieved as a threat to national security, he was a drug user, and was sort of like a pied piper into weird freaky hippy hedonism for kids. now yoko ono was japanese, we all know that there was a great mistrust of japanese in america around those times following world war 2 and the cold war. why do you think yoko ono got away with all the stuff she did, she cut a deal on the behalf of japan with the american government to nix lennon forever. they hired the gunman, planted a fake story, and made him shoot lennon, thus ending the threat. the reason no one knows why he shot lennon is because the government never came up with a good story, so you can believe that he wanted to be famous, or the book the catcher in the rye made him do it.

Jacaranda 09-03-2005 10:26 PM

Uh, don't do drugs kids.

Ummm... what? You're kidding, right? Also, Yoko Ono is incredibly unattractive, regardless of nationality. You, my friend, have a serious case of yellow fever. I suggest you see a doctor, or a psychiatrist. Or just stop seeing anime.

adioviva 09-03-2005 11:43 PM

no, i actually have "MALARIA" i got it from the **** mosquitos that are in my house... and as for psychiatrist, my only psychiatrist is the road ahead of me

REBEL!

oh and im not kidding, that conspiracy it totally true you can find proof of it on the internet, google specifically

DeusExMachina 09-03-2005 11:47 PM

Ahh.. well, google is always honest.

No, dude, you need to clean up the yellow fever business. It's psychologically unsound.

adioviva 09-03-2005 11:51 PM

Umm, ok... it's malaria, buddy... you know what that means?... it means death...

...racist

DeusExMachina 09-03-2005 11:55 PM

What? What are you talking about? I'm so confused. 2 am sucks.

Ok, I'm just going to ignore like, the past 10 posts, because of the stupidity of them (which I contributed way too much to).

Flaminghotchino 09-04-2005 01:38 AM

Honey Pie!!!... Honey Pie!!!

CockeyedMaverik 09-04-2005 02:08 AM

hey jude, let it be, and come together i all find pleasurable to listen too. I don't get into their more fats paced songs i geuss because i think other bands do it better, in my opinion (couldn't figureout how to spell that). but they always seemed to kick *** at the slower feeling songs. esp Let it be

Ulysses 09-04-2005 02:28 AM

My favourite Bealtes material would be their pyschedelic/experimental music such as A Day in the Life, Strawberry Fields, Rain, Tomorrow Never Knows and so forth. They have such a great feel to them.

I agree. However, those songs tend to be the slower ones. I'm in agreement with CockEyedMaverik, not because I think other bands do fast stuff better, but simply because slower songs tend to appeal to me more.

rockinbass17 09-04-2005 10:20 AM

Well, my four favorite songs of The White Album were all slow and sweet- Blackbird, Cry Baby Cry, Rocky Racoon, and WMGGW. I love thier fast, Birthday/Helter Skelter songs, too, but it is true their prettier, slower songs are more appealing.

Has anyone listened to the Anthologies/Let It Be Sessions?

Some of those songs they do I think are better cuts than the originals.

I'm So Tired - Anthology

Across the Universe - Sessions

She Came in Through the Bathroom Window - Sessions

The Sessions albums is great. So many songs on it too.

DeusExMachina 09-04-2005 07:13 PM

I haven't listened to the Sessions yet, I've been too lazy... I'll do that tonight.

magicbus 09-04-2005 07:14 PM

Can anybody upload the Anthologies? I've yet to hear them.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 08:09 AM

Do you need all three? I might be able to upload them later. However, YSI hasn't been very nice to me lately, so I'm not sure.

magicbus 09-05-2005 08:14 AM

If you don't want to do all three, that's fine. YSI isn't working very well for me either, actually, so if you don't want to do any I would understand why. Not a big deal.
