Has anyone heard Transatlantic? One of MP's many side projects, with Neal Morse from Spock's Beard. Definately my favourite side project. They play a very retro style of prog, which reminds me of Yes, Genesis and a load of other classic prog bands. The band was formed in 1995 and comprises of:-
Neal Morse- Vocals, Keyboards, Guitars.
Mike Portnoy- Drums, Percussion, Vocals.
Roine Stolt- Guitar, Vocals.
Pete Trewavas- Bass and vocals.
The band released "Bridge Across Forever" in 1997. A fantastic prog album, by in my opinion, [B]THE[/B] prog rock supergroup.

I've heard of it, but don't yet have it. I definitely need to listen to it, sounds awesome.

and I just found out from my mate the other day the Kevin Moore is the singer on OSI. They should have let him do backing vocals in DT, he's a better singer than MP or JP.

After the gig we saw like 5 police cars chasing someone on a bike. The guy had the cheek to ride into us and go "excuse me please..." while he was being chased. Very amusing end to the day.

I've got an instructional video by JM and he talks loads.
"Progressive Bass Concepts" it's really good.
Improved my bass playing tenfold.

I've never seen him speak apart from on his Bass DVD and the DT DVDs sometimes.

Kevin Moore is a great singer. The OSI album is awesome. He's really funny on my Live in Tokyo video.

If you have something to ask go for it! I have nearly completed the Beatallica interview but Dream theater is a new band to me. I have 4 albums and a DVD and I don't yet know a lot about the band. If you have something you would like to ask them then feel free to post away.

Ask if they plan to do another concept album.

I think it was because the person just read it, saw that Ken was "interested" in Mike Portnoy, and thought he might like to ask some questions.

Of course, he's never around these days. I think that there should be a "threadstart date" item next to every one so that people can see how old the threads are.

Nah its only 3 dates (I think) in London and Wolverhampton, which are just too far away.

And my band members are all away at (the same) university, so they're always practising it together, and I'm practising it at home to the original. Then we'll rehearse it as a band in the Christmas holidays, ready for a gig in January.

It's pretty tricky but very fun to play.

They never do extensive tours of the U.K. They always just do a few dates, maybe 2 or 3.

And we shall always go to those dates.

In the U.K, compared to the U.S. No date is too far. I've always lived about 240 miles from London, but I've seen them 4 times.

Bah. If only Dream Theater had come to London with Yes, then my dad would probably be prepared for the very long drive. He likes Dream Theater and said he'd like to see them but London is too far.

I agree. I worked out that for two Dream Theater gigs I've travelled close to 1500 miles (this is including return journeys, so I've went close to 750 to get there and close to 750 to get home). It's totally worth it for Dream Theater though.
