People kept telling me in my thread that I should post this in the OFFICIAL Megadeth thread, so here you go:
I just recently read that Dave Mustaine (lead singer/guitarist of Megadeth) is suing his former bandmate Dave Ellefson (bassist) over an ad in the July issue of "Bass Player" magazine. The ad shows Dave Ellefson holding a pedal tuner and a bass. And to the left of the photo it shows a list of all the names of bands that he's been with...including the Megadeth name and logo. And this is why Dave Mustaine is suing his former bassist, for using the Megadeth logo in an ad? Does Dave thinks he owns the entire band? Now I love Megadeth's music and I think Dave Mustaine is one great guitar player. But this whole thing just seems really stupid to me. I just wanted to know your guys opinion on Dave Mustaine's reputation. Like I said, I like his music, I just don't like his attitude. |

Who knows, all I really care about is the music and I'm so sick of all the bad publicity around Megadeth. Some of it is Dave's own fault but most of it is the stupid media like that ****in Blabbermouth. |
Dave has become a bit of an idiot since his conversion...

Gigantour was awesome :thumb:
lets see...........this is what I knew they played in no particular order blackmail the universe die dead enough the scorpion :thumb: kick the chair In my darkest hour A tout le monde wake up dead peace sells hangar 18 tornado of souls holy wars symphony of destruction sweating bullets skin o my teeth angry again this is what I think they played: hook in mouth or 99 ways to die (the intro sounds the same so I'm not sure) a song from KIMB I was suprised that they played a lot of stuff from TSHF, I liked it a lot. I thought they would play mostly old stuff. |

/envies you...has to wait another month. |
It's petty revenge.. Welldeserved revenge IMO.. But still incredibly petty... Dave isn't really the best christian out there is he? He should learn how to turn the other cheek

TSHF songs kicks so much ass live.. Especially Kick the chair
|
hell yeah, the energy is just pumping out and everyone goes crazy
I'd have to say black mail the universe was my favorite song they performed off of TSHF, with the scorpion in close second. |
FlyingPaul when they played Holy Wars did they stop right before the slow part of the song and play a totally different song then after they finished continued with the ending of Holy Wars?
|

Gigantour comes to me on Sunday, but i can't go because I'm working and it's the day before school starts :(. |
Hey guys im new to this thread and i wanna learn mor about megadeth. I hear they are great and i need to get omr old school metal influence. I hope no one gets pissed but im also a metallica fan (kirk hammet is my idol but i believe dave own his a*s). So anyway wut album should i buy first if i wanted to hear egadeth at their best?
If you get into Megadeth, you'll realize Kirk is not "Gawd-Lyk" Kirk Hammett in mine and most peoples opinions as far as I can tell, is overrated. His solos do not go with the solos like Friedman's do. They just don't fit. Not to mention on one of their dvd's he wears eyeliner with Billie Joe Armstrong. Not to mention he has a fuckin belly button ring. |

Get Rust In Peace, but any of the first four Megadeth albums are good. no, it was the last song they played and they said that they were running late. To Creeping Deth:I went to the July 30th albuquerque showing. I live in albuquerque so I didn't have to travel far. To Chu: Yes I saw Dream theater, and they were awesome aswell. I saw all of the bands. Dream theaters set was very good. they started with glass prison, then I think they played some songs off of octavarium which i was unfamiliar with, but it was cool nonetheless. They finished their set with pull me under, which was fucking awesome. One of the funny things about dream theater was when their lead singer didn't need to sing for a while, he would just leave and go back stage for like 5 minutes, then come back out and start singing again. |

I would have loved to go :( **** my Australianess.... |
What was Nevermore's set like?
|
What was Nevermore's set like?
They were good, but it was nothing special. It seemed like they just walked on stage, played their songs, and then left. They had almost no "band to audience" interaction. They played their songs well, it was entertaining. |
megadeth imo is the only good band at that tour. im not really into the prog/ power metal scene
|

Hopefully they'll be better at my show... I really like their stuff. What was their setlist like? |
If your going, I suggest you see all the bands. While some aren't that cool, some of the bands might suprise you.
Question: Is dillinger escape plan on the gigantour, because they weren't ther when i went, but I have seen posters with them on it. To Mathias: I had never really heard anything from them, so I didn't really know what to expect. They were enjoyable, but they didn't really get the crowd pumping like most of the other bands. |
Yeah they should be.
|
i think they are.
|
Dillinger starts on August 5th.
|
ahhhhh I see.
|
So what was Nevermore's setlist?
|
I don't know, I've never really heard any of nevermore, so I don't know, sorry man.
All I know is that they are good at soloing. :) Symphony X was awesome. |
