I like how ADB needs to attack people for not liking what he likes, as if it's some fault of their's. Couldn't possibly be they don't just like it...

Raven Dark's Berustet av Kriegsdronnet was very impressive

wish I knew more BM like the final track

Morumbar 09-22-2011 09:01 AM
Interested in getting started in black metal, but I have no idea where to start. Anyone willing to give some recs?
Walknut - Graveforests and Their Shadows
Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunger
Bathory - Blood Fire Death

To give an idea of some of the different approaches to bm.

witchxrapist 09-22-2011 02:15 PM

I'd also add:
Mayhem - Deathcrush
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse

You know, so he can get a glimpse of the really raw stuffs and the really cheesy stuffs too.

Yeah I almost said Emperor in my suggestions but I just don't listen to them anymore. Still a good starting point if you need higher production values and more melody going on.

Drugstep 09-22-2011 04:10 PM

Deathcrush is mad relevant

Pechorin 09-22-2011 04:41 PM

Thanks Bleekill, Haz, Yuri, and Mappy. Checking these out once they downlload

kitsch 09-22-2011 07:42 PM

anyone here dig hate forest

Pechorin 09-22-2011 07:57 PM

Liked the bathory and Burzum that was recommended. Accidentally downloaded the s/t Burzum album and listened to it first and it wasn't as good. Halfway through Filosofem right now and it's a lot better

witchxrapist 09-22-2011 09:49 PM
Yeah I almost said Emperor in my suggestions but I just don't listen to them anymore. Still a good starting point if you need higher production values and more melody going on.
Yeah, I used to love Emperor when I was first getting into BM.

Blut Aus Nord and Sargeist are good starting bands imo.

Pechorin 09-22-2011 09:52 PM

Thanks again for the suggestions gonna listen to the recommended albums first then maybe ask for some more later...

Nitberg's Nagelreid was pretty good

Morumbar 09-23-2011 04:50 AM
anyone here dig hate forest
Yeah, Battlefields and Purity are great.

So does anyone like the new Taake?

kitsch 09-23-2011 07:13 AM
Yeah, Battlefields and Purity are great.

didnt know they had a new one out. theyre usually pretty consistent; ive dug all their prior releases so this one should be tight

Aakon_Keetreh 09-23-2011 10:02 AM

i havent listened to taake in forever. pretty damn good old material but havent really wanted to hear any new stuff from em

Juddybear 09-23-2011 02:35 PM
Nitberg's Nagelreid was pretty good
compared to like a blaze above the ashes or berustet av kriegsdronnet its p much poopish and irrelevant

Haz 09-23-2011 03:12 PM

by a negligible amount, maybe

Juddybear 09-23-2011 06:30 PM

a blaze and berustet are both masterpiece bm albums, nagelreid is like c tier stuff

Aakon_Keetreh 09-23-2011 06:54 PM

eh i feel like blazebirth is really hit or miss

Juddybear 09-23-2011 06:55 PM

anything from forest or raven dark is at the very least, solid if not good, branikald and those other bands are def hit or miss (mostly miss)

Aakon_Keetreh 09-23-2011 06:56 PM

yeah ive gotten a lot of stuff from all of them and people were cumming on albums that really really suck

Juddybear 09-23-2011 06:59 PM

anyone who likes blazebirth hall stuff should check out old wainds, their first demo sounds p much like a bbh album but with some wind noises here and there (they are mad sparse with those shits) so get that shit faggots

Haz 09-23-2011 07:18 PM
a blaze and berustet are both masterpiece bm albums, nagelreid is like c tier stuff
lol "masterpiece" BM

Juddybear 09-23-2011 07:19 PM

yeah dude

Haz 09-23-2011 07:22 PM

BM is cool and all but that's like saying the schadenfreude that is Dr. Oz is masterpiece daytime television

Juddybear 09-23-2011 07:22 PM

not really like that at all

Aakon_Keetreh 09-23-2011 07:38 PM

there are masterpieces tho

Juddybear 09-23-2011 07:38 PM

yeah i know bro

Haz 09-23-2011 08:32 PM
