Justin recced it to me once, along with Forest. They're pretty similar albums, production-wise. Good stuff.

forest, branikald and raven dark are the only ones really worth hearing

the three have their own ups and downs within discographies, but overall each band is good

yeah, it's very polished and just constant blasting with some very lame and cliche themes. tbh i haven't listened extensively, but my little exposure has convinced me not to bother

I started listening to black metal with Burzum - Filosofem and it's still one of my favorites today. All of Burzum's earlier material rules.

Mayhem - Deathcrush is awesome but if you want something with more production value go with De Mysteriis Dom Sathanis. Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon is another must have from the early 2nd wave.


If you want first wave stuff, get Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion and Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark
