That's what I was thinking.

Soul_Under_Arrest 08-31-2006 04:12 PM

No but for the first one that's pretty much what everyone has been calling it.

The second one sounds like just some jam song with a decent riff or two.

Trundle 08-31-2006 05:59 PM

the first new song was alright but i havnt heard the other new song yet

Jev 08-31-2006 06:01 PM

Somebody posted a decent link like a few posts up.

lionelhutz88 08-31-2006 09:31 PM

I actually prefer te 2nd new song to the first. It seems pretty catchy.

Chu 08-31-2006 10:09 PM

I like new song number 2, specially the solo.

WheatThins69 09-01-2006 01:23 AM

now that they fired that faggot Bob Rock they can start makeing good music again like their first 4 cds. oh wait, they have a drunken indian that wears basketball jerseys for a bassist. Hetfield sings like sh1t. they are old men trying to play nu-metal.

Drunken Indian?

How are they trying to play nu-metal?

have you seen SKOM? Have you heard St.Anger?

lionelhutz88 09-01-2006 01:46 AM

Yes I have. St. Anger was hit and miss, but it was them trying something different. I think it would have been better received had the production been better. If you see videos of Frantic live, it's pretty good imo. There wasn't really any rap, which I thought was required for nu-metal.

WheatThins69 09-01-2006 01:47 AM

lol. hetfield fired bob rock because bob rock is a huge sellout. they want to be their own band again. hetfield said that in an interview u can see on youtube

lionelhutz88 09-01-2006 01:51 AM

You're kind of contradicting yourself. In, one post you blast Metallica for trying to play nu-metal and then you support them in the next post. I don;t see what your point is...

lionelhutz88 09-01-2006 01:55 AM

Well, Im excited for the next album. Ill always be a Metallica fan at heart, just because their music really introduced me to all that I listen to today. I'll never forget how it felt to be 13 years old and being obsessed with Master of Puppets and AJFA.

alot of people are the same way

lionelhutz88 09-01-2006 02:03 AM

why'd you delete that post??
lol. hetfield fired bob rock because bob rock is a huge sellout. they want to be their own band again. hetfield said that in an interview u can see on youtube
Incorrect.

Bob Rock had always sold records. He's a good producer.

People need to remember that if you're already selling, you can't sell out :thumb:

lionelhutz88 09-01-2006 02:12 AM

Without Bob Rock, I don't think the guitars on the Black album would sound so huge. That albums production owned AJFA's production.

Yes! You Can!

Selling out is more than selling records. It's changing your style to fit others.

Huber 09-01-2006 02:15 AM
Yes! You Can!

Yeah, but the ultimate goal in changing you're style to fit those others is to make money, in terms of selling out.

Prince Charming 09-01-2006 02:16 AM
Yeah, but the ultimate goal in changing you're style to fit those others is to make money, in terms of selling out.
Correct. More money, but more money itself doesn't = selling out. As many people say though.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-01-2006 02:19 AM

A producer can't really sell-out, especially Bob Rock. His job is just to help the band achieve the sound that they want.

In fact, the idea of a producer being a sellout is ludicrous.

Prince Charming 09-01-2006 02:20 AM

Exactly. Hence the term, producer.
Metallica on tape selling out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9rzuPmqv2Q
And exactly how is that selling out?

Regardless of that, if I like Load, I'll listen to it, I couldn't care less if they made it to make more money, or because they were tired of old stuff, or any other reason. All it matters is that it sounds good and I like it.

Trundle 09-01-2006 07:20 PM

Just heard the other new song it sounds pretty good I think.

Kirk is so camp.

Meatplow 09-02-2006 06:42 AM

Kirk looks like such a nerdy collage guy in some of the old pictures you see of Metallica lol.

A band selling out more or less means nothing to me. Art exists outside of its creators and their intentions, and i find listening to Metallica provides me with tapestries of sound and imagery that i wouldn't get anywhere else for better or for worse. Its all inspiration, for better or for worse.

HahahitnRun 09-02-2006 12:43 PM

Kirk should do the vocals for a metallica song one day just to see how it would sound

:goes and puts in earplugs:

Jev 09-02-2006 02:32 PM

You should hear the traffic school song. Absolutely brilliant.
