What's up with all the horrible n00bs lately.....?
How was everyone's New Years? On New Years Eve my friends and I ate Morning Glory seeds for the first time....they were utterly amazing. We didn't eat a lot, just a light experience, because it was a big party and we didn't want to be tripping our ***'s off with fights and cops all around us. I've never seen such colours in all my life.
My New Years was fantastic! I took 2 hits of acid for the first time. The streets were were so foggy it was hard to see 5 feet in front of you, there were gigantic fireworks right over our heads oh man it was just an amazing trip setting.... never felt happier in my life and what a fantastic way to end this year.
Schyma brings up getting mescaline for the first time soon
Pfft, I wish.....

Texas is winning.....

Lunch 01-04-2006 09:23 PM

Watch out for USC in the second half though, that's when they usually score all their points.

Has anyone heard any Egg? If so, how are they?

magicbus 01-04-2006 09:25 PM
I've never heard Venus In Furs. But for psychedelic stuff in general you might want to check out (if you already haven't, I'm not too sure): Spirit, early Traffic, early Ten Years After, then more obscure stuff along the lines of Clear Light, H.P. Lovecraft, Tomorrow, other Love (besides Forever Changes, but that's essential if you don't own it), The Misunderstood, Moby Grape, Soft Machine, the Electric Prunes, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Gong, and many more I haven't heard.

Edit: I guess most of that has somewhat of a "pop" element to it, so maybe that isn't really what you're looking for.
I'd like to check out everything except for the Spirit, Traffic, and Ten Years After (already have). Can anybody send any of that out?

Lunch 01-04-2006 09:26 PM

All the other bands I named I have at least one of their albums on my computer so I can do a lot for you, unfortunately not tonight though. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

MBS 01-04-2006 09:27 PM
Yeah, an AF75 jazz/leet guitar
I've got an AXD1. Right when I purchased it, they discontinued the model, which was a shame. It's got a great tone. Semi-hollow, by the way.

Krabsworth 01-04-2006 09:27 PM

No problem. I'd go looking for myself but i've been downloading music all night and I'm sick of soulseek right now.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-04-2006 09:28 PM

The Texas band played "She Loves You" by the Beatles. :amaze:

Krabsworth 01-04-2006 09:29 PM
The Texas band played "She Loves You" by the Beatles. :amaze:
That is like one of the Beatles' best.
No problem. I'd go looking for myself but i've been downloading music all night and I'm sick of soulseek right now.
Understandable. I might be able to compile a "sample" of all those bands, then you could pick which ones you were most interested in.
Yeah, unfortunately USC will probably come back to win.
I disagree.

Happy songs, and when I say happy I mean that euphoric, pleasant kind of cheery happy, are generally some of my favorite songs. Now that I ahve Here Comes the Sun on CD, it may very well be my favorite BEatles song.

I like songs in the minor key as well, especiall if they are very emotional, or epic.

zabbit82 01-04-2006 09:57 PM
The Texas band played "She Loves You" by the Beatles. :amaze:
That was pretty sweet. The aslo did "All You Need Is Love" and "Got To Get You Into My Life." That made my night :)

So, if Texans wins, Lunch reps you and you neg him, and if USC wins Lunch negs you and you pos rep him or something?

Jacaranda 01-04-2006 10:09 PM

We're singing "When I'm 64" in Choir, but its really gay during all the good parts (All the ending parts basically and stuff, I can't think of how it goes right now :S) the bassists (Me!) have to sing "Ah"... its really lame and even more lame all 4 Tenors were bitching about the song. They didn't know who the Beatles were I was floored when I heard this.
I have more work to do I suppose.

That whole album is sweet. Gimme Shelter, Monkey Man, Love In Vain. Its hard for me to listen to Love In Vain lately cuz I'm reminded of the night a friend of mine passed away about 1 month and a half ago...

My favorites on Let It Bleed: "Love In Vain", "Let It Bleed", "Gimme Shelter", "Midnight Rambler". Almost the entire album is great. The only track I don't like is "You Can't Always Get What You Want".

Really? They did a GREAT version of YCAGWYW live. A soulfull intro, a steady middle part, then a gospel-like ending. Sweet stuff...
