Dumb thing about forum arguing about Metallica and Megadeth - Metallica has more fans, therefore are better. More talented musicians. Megadeth are merely more proficient in their instruments. thats the last thing I can be arsed saying on the topic.
Kirk Hammett Influenced the guitarists for trivium and dragonforce, im pretty sure. Dragonforce are good, trivium gay, but who cares, Metallica own their asses. |
Welcome to the forums, Mikedrummer :thumb:
Metallica has more fans, therefore are better.
No, it just means they have more mainstream appeal.
More talented musicians. Megadeth are merely more proficient in their instruments.
 |
Stop welcoming me, you already did it, and i didnt need it, kthx.
More mainstream appeal? as in, their music appeals to more people?, as in, it's considered good by more people? so I take that as them being a better band. If Megadeth's music was better they would be more popular. when I say more talented I mean they make better music, are better at making good sounding music, more talented. Megadeth make technical solos and hard to play riffs and stuff, but it doesn't sound as good as Metallica's IMHO. That's all I meant. And it's opinion |
You need to give Megadeth another spin man.
Megadeth > Metallica, and that's all there is to it. |

Metallica were always more commercial than Megadeth. Their music was less complex, and was tame enough to appeal to more listeners than Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus etc etc. Hence why they sold more albums. That doesn't mean they are better. |

Point taken, but ...And Justice For All is quite complex... Yet it was more popular than any Megadeth album. In my opinion, Megadeth only ever released two great albums (peace sells and rust in peace obviously), Metallica released 4 (5 if you count the Black Album, though I dont like it as much). |
ATTENTION IDIOTS- TASTE IN MUSIC IS SUBJECTIVE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN ARGUING THIS!!
That being said. Megadeth > Metallica /end of subject. Oh and Mikedrummer welcome to the forums :thumb: |
Thanks for saying that. Im tired of the same damn Metallica vs. Megadeth argument. Stop it please.
ohh btw, welcome to the forums Mikedrummer:chug: |
just give it up mikedrummer, people have different tastes in music,:chug:
|
Some of the Metallifans are also fans of Tool.
You might enjoy Kirk playing with them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYFuhpv9U6U |
On a news report on another un-named site, the reporters comments on Kirk's playing with Tool were largely damming him quoting at one point that his drunken thrash solo nearly ruined the song.
|
that was some blabbermouth dumbass. There's been mixed reviews. Some good, some bad.

That being said. Megadeth > Metallica /end of subject. Oh and Mikedrummer welcome to the forums
**** you, and you pep, dicks. Prove that there's no point arguing, let me have the last word then Metallica > Megadeth and Mustaine's fuc-king sh-itty voice |
**** you, and you pep, dicks.
Prove that there's no point arguing, let me have the last word then Metallica > Megadeth and Mustaine's fuc-king sh-itty voice
sure. You can have it. Btw this is an internet forum. You need to lighten up. (welcome to the forums:wave: ) |
**** you, and you pep, dicks.
Prove that there's no point arguing, let me have the last word then Metallica > Megadeth and Mustaine's fuc-king sh-itty voice
You're a ****en idiot, Megadeth > Metallica, pure and simple. If you're only gripe against Megadeth is the vocals, seriously listen to them again. Eventually you'll learn to enjoy them, I believe most people who listen to Megadeth came from the same boat (I know I did...), Megadeth is everything Metallica should have been, and more. Welcome to the forums Mikedrummer  . |
Yeah the megadeth vs metallica discussion is so overdone its not even funny.
From a technical instrumental standpoint, Megadeth is better, and thats really the only thing you can say that isn't opinion. Everything else from playing style, vocals, song titles, anything, is all in the eye of the beholder(great metallica song).:thumb: I like Metallica a lot more. Oh yeah welcome to the forums Mikedrummer.:thumb: |
James Hetfield 7 String? Like omg!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/jem_fanatic/Fs_james.jpg That's hot, and I hope it's on the new album. |

I believe he also played it during the AMA's? VMA's? Not sure, but I remember they did renditions of 90s rock songs.:thumb: |
Any idea which songs he used it on?

Welcome to the forums Mikedrummer .
Sorry, im a fckin idiot, because I have an opinion on music? No, i'm not, it's you who is the fcking idiot. No, my only gripe against Megadeth isn't the vocals (which have sucked, in all the 4 years i've occasionally listened to them and tried my best to get into them), the songs generally bore me, and i've heard all of Rust In Peace's "classics". People say Mustaine is a better guitarist than Kirk and James, but while on a technical scale, yeah, he is, Kirk and James make better sounding riffs and solos. I just can't fuc-king enjoy Megadeth, end of story. Megadeth weren't everything Metallica should have been, because with both bands around, people get to enjoy both of them. I prefer Metallica and so do over 50% of people who hear them both, you can't argue with that. Yeah Megadeth is better technically... So? Dream Theater is technically better than Tool, but Tool ****in own them, IMO, though most people would agree. Cynic is technically probably better than Death, but Cynic only released one album, which wasn't s good as any of Death's 90's albums IN MY OPINION. If you still disagree with my opinions, I don't care, go kill yourself. You can't argue with argue with opinion, unless you like wasting your time. Oh wait, that's what im doing right now, so last word:- I enjoy Metallica, their songs sound better to me, you can't change my opinion, go shag a kangaroo :thumb: welcome to the forums, btw |
Any idea which songs he used it on?
I swear I've seen it used in SKOM.
Dream Theater is technically better than Tool, but Tool ****in own them
This sentence made me angry. |
