Anyone heard about the concert they'll have in Korea with Tool opening for them?

Damn lucky koreans that would be good to watch.
Wow...
That really is a weird place for them to play.

Aw3someman 08-11-2006 03:41 PM

weird is right. Korea, who the **** wants to listen to middle-age americans singing in Korea? Especially North Korea.

Jev 08-11-2006 03:42 PM

I would've thought such a thing (if it's in North Korea) wouldn't be allowed.

I'm pretty sure it's in South Korea, not North. lol

:) I think the average opinion would be

MOP>RTL>AJFA>KEA :thumb: and I agree with it.

And Justice For All deos have emotion. And it's technical. I love almost every song on it. The title track, One, and Frayed Ends Of Sanity are my personal favourites... One, actually, is probably Metallica's best song. Metallica are one of the best rock bands ever. some of the best things about this album are:-

Great guitar solos and hooks
Great guitar riffs
James' vocals are better than the first 3 albums
It's heavy
Lars' drumming here is actually good, considering he had no style innovator to base his ideas for thrash :thumb: (though i guess he probably had heard Reign In Blood by now)
Good lyrics
Longer songs, some may not like this but I do.

Anyways those are my opinions.

Yes "You think the average opinion would be" but I nearly garentee someone wi;; disagree with you.

But who really give a ****?

Welcome
Tools is opening for Metallica? holy hell!
I don't think that something so different as Tool and Metallica on stage together would happen but damn would that be cool to see.

That would be ****in awesome! I'm hoping to see Tool when they roll through town here in a couple of weeks. if I do get to see them I would be seeing them in the same building that I saw Tallica in ;)

Soul_Under_Arrest 08-12-2006 06:40 PM

I've only seen Tool Live once and they put on one hell of a show. I especially liked the drum solo time Danny Carey got. That was freakin' impressive with what he did. I'm not even a drummer or know anything about the drums but his solo was the ****.

How much time did they give him?
How much time did they give him?
Maybe 15-20 minutes.

Chu 08-12-2006 09:31 PM

What is it about RTL someone of you don't like?

imo it's the quint-essential Metallica album, it showcases everything from epic song writing (Title track, Fade To Black, Call of The Ktulu..), James' best vocals (They're just so young!!!), best guitar (From both Hammett and Hetfield, Creeping Death, Escape, Trapped Under Ice, Fight Fire With Fire, oh man..), and it is tied with MoP with the use of bass. :p

heavy metal kid 08-12-2006 10:31 PM

Yeah, RTL is the best Metallica album, it is also the only album that features the creativity of Hetfield,Ulrich,Mustaine,Burton and Hammett.

Soul_Under_Arrest 08-12-2006 10:33 PM

On trems of technical level AJFA would be their best for guitars and drums.

Personally that's my favorite album not because of that just because of the epic songs in which they share with you.

heavy metal kid 08-12-2006 10:37 PM

AJFA is my second favorite, it is more technical than RTL but some songs are just too long and repetitive.

Anthem 08-12-2006 11:10 PM

Hmm... me and my friends are debating on whats a better intrumental The Call of Ktulu or Orion? What do you guys think?

A: To Live Is To Die

Anthem 08-12-2006 11:21 PM

Ok well so much for the 2 songs I asked about but whatever.

pep 08-12-2006 11:23 PM

The Call of Ktulu

highwaysalmon 08-12-2006 11:28 PM

as much as I love orion, I would have to say I like The Call of Ktulu better.
I like the eerie sound of the opening riffs.

Huber 08-12-2006 11:40 PM
Ok well so much for the 2 songs I asked about but whatever.
I know man, I was just messing around.

Out of those two it really sways. There about equal with me. However after watching the Rock AM Ring performance, I gotta say it's swaying in the Orion direction.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-12-2006 11:41 PM

Orion.

pep 08-12-2006 11:42 PM

Those intro riffs are awesome. They are really creepy and kinda set the mood for the rest of the song.

Soul_Under_Arrest 08-12-2006 11:44 PM

It depends on the mood and what not.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-12-2006 11:55 PM

I never liked Ktulu at all.

Prince Charming 08-12-2006 11:59 PM
Orion.
Nice productive post Jono!

I've gotta go with Ktulu by far. I remember hearing that and liking it, ages ago. That was when I was quite into Metallica, which I'm not now. I would like to hear the new album, if they'll ever finish it.

pate 08-13-2006 01:00 AM

Ktulu easily. The only part of Orion I like is the melodic bass part in the middle.

StealThisAlbumof2112 08-13-2006 01:07 AM

Is any as sick of Metallica as I am?
I mean, I like them (hell everyone does)
But I'm really sick of them
I mean
Wasn't Megadeth better anyways?

heavy metal kid 08-13-2006 01:11 AM

Nah, I have always like Metallica and I will probably never get sick of them because I listen to a lot of bands.

And yes Megadeth is better, as many bands, but still Metallica is great.

Megadeth better than Metallica? :amaze: Metallica is so much more creative...i dont know how you could EVER even compare the two bands...Metallica, from a musician's viewpoint, is the most influential band in the world...
