lawl, Nerd.

So what's everyone up to. I'm pretty bored.
Listening to a local called EBN on myspace. I'm also trying to keep up with the football.

Go with the lap steel, i'd love one, could play some awesome japanese style stuff, only reason for a banjo is Pub bands that cover sweet home Alabama :p.

AND the scrubs theme song :p

But seriously, I'm quite the folky, I love traditional scottish folk music (and irish, to some extent), so I could indulge all my Billy-Connoly-With-The-Humble-Bums fantasies.

Or, I guess I could get both. A banjitar is 170, and you can get lap steel for under 100 quid.

But that would mean not getting that nice Peavey Rockingham I've got my eye on. I'm digging single-cut semi-bodies at the moment. Oh, for the day I'm enough of a Rock God to warrant splashing out on a White Falcon I!

Haha! Brilliant!

Also, is that a mandolin I see on the wall behind you? Nice 12-string, too.

was it just the lightbulb that broke?

PAJJ 06-22-2006 02:28 PM

 at herb, next attempt to include beat boxing?

Gurs: Damnit yeah the scrubs theme is big bonus points for the banjo, so it might be a good idea, still the Lap steels a bit less common i just feel you could be more original with it, and it could be more interesting.

Yeh. I think I'll get a cheap'n'cheerful lap off'f ebay and get a Vintage banjitar - afterall, vintage do decent-enough instruments for cheap. I'll just pray that, if I get fantastic A-level grades, my rents' will reward me with a that peavey. Maybe. Hopefully.

I played a couple of vintage guitars when i was looking for a cheap lp copy, and they seemed decent enough, pups weren't all that great, but the guitar was pretty solid and well made, plus it might turn out you won't stick with one of them so it's not that much of a waste.

On a random note, i'm eating a bowl full of strawberries and raspberries, yummy :)

'sup Herb?

FVG27 06-22-2006 03:06 PM

Not too much. My ankle is hurting. We played a game a bit like musical bumps, except using rock, paper scissors (everytime she shouted out one, we had to get into that postition, last person is out). I did paper (fell to the floor to make a flat shape) and crushed my ankle on the floor :(

You?

Patrick O))) 06-22-2006 03:09 PM

Haha, well done. Where was this?

Yeah, pretty good thanks. Truckfighters are making a new album :D ran through my pieces for saturday a few minutes ago, they're pretty damn good. I'm chipping away at my scales as well and I had an encouraging aural lesson earlier.

And also, finally got a proper band practice booked for this thursday :D at proper rehearsal rooms too. MOTIVATION FTW! \m/
wth is THE LIST?
I was wainting for someone to ask :)

Well, I go this book: 1001 albums you must hear before you die. Me being me, I took this as a personal challenge (which, really, tells you all you need to know about me :p)

After spending 2 weeks typing the albums in the book up in list form (in the book, the albums are presented chronologically; in my list-version, alphabetically), and am know making my way through the list.

When I started, mid-January, I had already heard 31 on the list.

I've now heard 154 :)

NP: Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting.

Feel free to ask if YOUR favourite album is on the list /cheesy american style
