Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 11:41 PM
Crumb, what song of that album were you playing?
Huh? I was just making stuff up. But I have listened to "Revolution Blues" twice in the last hour or so.

Broken Arrow 02-10-2007 11:45 PM

I seemed to have missed the "probably" in that first sentence. Revolution Blues is aweosme though.

Random cool fact: You might know the song is about Charlie Manson but did you know that Neil and Charlie were friends and Neil even bought him a motorcycle.

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 11:55 PM

wow that is really crazy

what inspiration for neil

Robert Crumb 02-11-2007 12:02 AM

I knew Manson had a lot of musician friends, but didn't know he was tight with Neil. Wacky stuff.

perriwinkle 02-11-2007 12:04 AM

yeah wasnt he friends with the beach boys?

if not the beach boys another really popular pop group

Broken Arrow 02-11-2007 12:05 AM

We have 25 rifles just to keep the population down.

edit: i think it was one of the Beach Boys that told him he could get Charlie into the music industry and never kept the promise

perriwinkle 02-11-2007 12:13 AM

ah yeah and that helped set him off right right

Jacaranda 02-11-2007 02:49 AM

dennis wilson picked up a 2 girls who were his followers and he had the sex with them and sent them on their way out and the next day he came home charles was there with a bunch of people and the two girls after that he just started hanging there and lived there for like 3 months. until dennis moved out and had the beach boys manager evict them.

Me and some friends went out for dinner last night and my over nineteen friends bought me alcoholic beverages. I guess I forgot how easily alcohol affects me because apparently I tried to ask the waiter for a whole watermelon.

Then I got pushed down the sidewalk in a shopping cart.

 Brilliant.

Alcohol is amazing. Well actually not the alcohol itself or even the effects, but the entire concept of it. Why is it so cool and so damn fun to get together, drink a lot, piss a lot, and act like a tard? Perplexing.

How you doing dude?

i thought that was cool

the vocal melody actually got stuck in my head as i was walking to dinner; it was the last thing i listened to before i left. i listened to it twice, and i think the lyrics are pretty well done, i like your voice, but i didn't like the guitar. at least the chord progression at the beginning, it was very predictable. i liked the chords you would hit on the first beat when you were singing though, and the harmonies were nice

the guitar work was meant to be very simplistic becuase a lot of what i write is all about being complex or different and i thought the simplistic guitar work lended to the overall simplicity and happiness of the song.

so yeah that's why it's there, but i'm glad you liked it.
