I will. I'll either call up my friend in the morning and see if he has any of them, and if not I'll try and track them down on the internet but sometimes that seems a little too hit or miss to get good copies.

negrodamus 11-30-2007 10:32 PM

about to get my first listen of Electric Wizard. What should I expect?

Rickabobaloey 11-30-2007 10:37 PM

I've only heard their one album, Dopethrone and I found it's great music to zone out to and just nod your head with it. The lyrics are muddled and distorted, but it's not a bad thing it actually creates the atmosphere along with the sludgy simplistic riffs on guitar. It's really quite good, actually.

ATM 12-01-2007 01:04 AM

Have you guys heard Beehoover?

dUSK 12-01-2007 03:14 AM

I never got into Electric Wizard. I heard Dopethrone a few years ago and thought it was boring. Perhaps I should give it another go, as at the time the only Doom I really liked was Candlemass and everyone seems to love that album.

Really cool stuff, I guess 2 of the members are from some German doom band called Voodooshock so they definitely incorporate that into their music.

Any fans of Dead Meadow?

Txus 12-01-2007 10:08 AM

I don't know how many albums they have but the one I own is ****ing great, they remind me of Toner Low at times.

ATM 12-01-2007 10:10 AM

I'm listening to Howls From the Hills.

I actually saw their guitar player open for Boris which was awesome.

Nuke Broadcast 12-01-2007 02:13 PM

toner low, aye. shame they dont release too many full length stuff.
Check out the bands I posted for you on the last page

:)
I'm trying, and I guess I've no luck when it comes to finding music that's pretty obscure.

My friend has OM Pilgrimage but he's at work until tomorrow. Would it be possible for you to send me links in my e-mail again like you did earlier?

Any of the rest that you mentioned earlier too if you have them.

Nostalgia 12-01-2007 04:44 PM

Anyone know any good music to get high and listen to?

Kage 12-01-2007 05:02 PM

Fucking Om.

Try searching albums on there.

gmoneyguy 12-01-2007 05:55 PM

I just have two Dead Meadow albums, but they are awesome.

Ohh, nice link there. I usually use google to search, but I didn't think of having it search through the blogs section.

I was able to find a link that way for the OM CD, as well as Cathedral's Caravan Beyond Redemption and Boris Rainbow.

I think I should be set with new things to listen to now.

Thanks for everything Arrest. :chug:

Tyler 12-01-2007 11:31 PM

I'm loving this Worship so far actually Austin. So take that.

I mean it's still a little odd for me at parts because I've listened to very little Funeral Doom but it seems to do things very, very excellently. I'll take a while to absorb it but so far it's shaping up wonderfully.

I might even review it if I can get a good enough feel for it; I want to do it justice while still coming in as someone not too experienced, but I dont want to sound like an ignorant jackass.

Nostalgia 12-01-2007 11:36 PM

You're just liking it to spite me!!!

Tyler 12-01-2007 11:40 PM
You're just liking it to spite me!!!
Nah man seriously it's good. It doesn't draw itself out to hit some boring predictable climax and it's paced effectively.

the2stranger 12-02-2007 09:21 AM

I should write soe more reviews too.
It was aways nice and it helps people out.

But which album?
We'll see.

Tyler 12-02-2007 09:26 AM

Why not Nadja? They havent been covered and you're clearly passionate about them. I mean you did one album but yeah, they have more right?

And I totally didnt know they were from here. Now I have to check them out.

the2stranger 12-02-2007 09:29 AM

I did one Nadja review once.
I wasnt overly happy with it.
Maybe I shoudl modify it some and yes they have plenty of other albums to review. :p

Nadja are from Canada yes, chances you might see Adien Baker (main composer) somewhere as he plays a lot with orchersta, his own bands and does poetry stuff.

Iron Bars 12-02-2007 09:29 AM

I've been listening to Church of Misery's Master of brutality album these past 2 days. Great music, better guitar leads.

Anyone hear the new Boris and Merzbow live album?

the2stranger 12-02-2007 09:31 AM

Nope, any good?

Looking forward to seeing Boris on Roadburn. :D

Tyler 12-02-2007 09:34 AM
Nadja are from Canada
I mean Toronto though. Canada is massive :P They're from my city.

the2stranger 12-02-2007 09:38 AM

Yeah, Canada is pretty massive indeed.
Even more form me, coming from a tiny country.
I think my ountry is smaller then your smallest county.

I want to go to Roadburn but I don't think I have the money for it.

Also 11-02-08 Municipal Waste in 013 which would be nice to go to, too.

the2stranger 12-02-2007 09:40 AM

58 euros isn't too bad for a 2 day festival.
I'll be buying my ticket tomorrow.

Iron Bars 12-02-2007 09:42 AM

I hope it doesn't sell out as quick as last year so I can think about it some more.

repcak 12-02-2007 10:01 AM

how about an Ahab review?

the2stranger 12-02-2007 10:15 AM

Didn't I do that already?
/Thinks.

EDIT:
Done it already, albeit it's a bit short.

Shattered_Future 12-02-2007 11:12 AM

This is not cool. Searching for Nadja and Worship both brought up 500 porn links on isohunt.

the2stranger 12-02-2007 11:38 AM

:-\

That's pretty wrong.

Alright, I just posted a new review, first one since a long long tie, so please don't be too harsh. :p
Go to the site and see if you can pick it out. <_<

dUSK 12-02-2007 03:08 PM

I'm going to have to check Fallen out after reading that. The thought of Funeral Doom without growled vocals intrigues me. You make it sound like good stuff though. :thumb:

the2stranger 12-02-2007 04:11 PM

Thanks.
It really is.
Still the vocals are so low. :p

The album is very well produced. thick and atmospheric.
The way I like it.

If you can't find it, let me know, I'll hook you up.

Phototropic 12-02-2007 04:38 PM

i know some of you dig bomb the sun

my band are playing with them next week

hope some of you south wales dwellers can make it!! be great to hook up yes

Review that Ten Horned Beast I sent you. :p

I need some Angelic Process too

Kage 12-02-2007 05:06 PM

Ahab kind of sucks.
