Hi Kat, No worries about the green cheerios. I found them at the ten yen shop. Sorry if I'm short, but I'm so tired that I don't know what is right, left or up or down. I'm ****ing tired. At an rate life today was the usual Camella Kicking our ***. A mad dash through the subways with just enough seconds to either have a lotus root pizza or purple waffle, salad sticks to take on the train with Kirin that I could have bought for a lot less from the machine. I want to tell you about a dream I had. Involved a girl of the kind I like. Guess what, and this is just between the two of us, next morning in kiddie land, the toy store, I saw an Icelandic Barbie Doll. Limited edition and more expensive than any other Barbies just like those... Anyway, Joe thought I was a fag for even thinking about paying 50,000 yen or whatever for this viking doll, but then again he's been giving me **** about using Camella's conditioner... Redkin extreem, which, by the way, is pure dream to me. Sorry to ramble, but just wanted to say thanks, and as I already said have the green cheerios, and lots of love... with good conditioner in my traveling hair. Thanks for watching the crazy place. Got you a Qoo. Love, B
wtf is this... |
Gimmie a B
Gimmie a l gimmie a o gimmie a g Entry. I guess that update only makes sense to 2 people. And one wrote it |
An example of what happens when you take drugs?
|
I give someone who is very good at finding subliminal messages the job of deciphering that for usefulness.
Once you fail at that, realise you shouldnt have bothered. And if that was due to drugs, he did a good job of still typing properly Ill see what my inbox has to say about that tommorrow. |
I think Blair must be constantly high or something, he makes very little sense most of the time.
I did not hear anything about Maynard not even starting vocals till June though... |
Awwwww. That's a downer. Oh well, better June than July I always say!
|
Sorry it's late, but a response to the acoustic question: Somewhere on MX, there is an acoustic version of Schism Sliver did. He posted it in the put a while ago, and it's pretty good (although he can't pull off Maynard's vocals well).
|
right now i really don't care when the albums out but i only hope they come to new mexico. Many bands like it here, probably the surroundings, if they do First in line to buy tickets. But, i really wish that you should stop worrying and wait until it arrives. Be patient and rewards will come for your precious time.

Has anyone got any good recorded interviews with the Tool members, I found a couple on my college network the other day, but they were generally dissappointing. I guess thats all you can expect when it some twat of a radio host who only cares about tour dates and *** kissing. Maynard especially seemed uninterested during his recording.
Anyway, if anyones got any good stuff, would they mind uploading it on YSI. |
There was a webcast up on the Tool site a couple months back....actually back in June '04 so it's been quite a while but anyway, Blair is pretty much just asking the band questions that were sent in my the members of The Collective Unconscious. It's actually quite interesting and funny. All the members are there with the exception of Maynard. According to the band, "he's in the bathroom". Anyway, not sure if many of you have heard this or not but in case you haven't and are interested, here is the link:

^^Yeah, i remember that. There was a question asking Justin about English food or something, and Danny sarcasticaly coughed. But they put some tool-esque effects over the top of it.
And I also remember that it held very little use unfortunately. It was more questions about previous things rather than the new album. |
On the 5th of March 2002, Maynard stated that he would like to tour with Portishead some time. Any thoughts?
|
I find it funny that Blair has now edited out his last entry. Somebody sobered up im guessing.
A Portishead tour would attract two very different sets of fans, and from what i've seen of live Portishead, they have alot of various instruments onstage at once, which coudl be a pain to set up. But then again, Tool do ahve the habit of touring with some completely unsimilar bands. And I wouldnt mind seeing Portishead. |

They were talking about the lack of crowd reaction when Meshuggah opened for them, apparently they weren't popular. |
Danny said that they were going to start finalising songs after Maynard toured with APC, and they've recorded at least 2 songs, and Danny also said to Blair that there's some vocal thing with a song they recorded recently that he's excited about. And you say Maynard is starting vocals in June?
If they've recorded at least 2 songs, how is it possible for them to release it next year? I am musically illiterate so don't trust me, but I think it's common sense. |
You mean how is it possible for them to release it next year as in you think it will definately be this year, or do you mean it will be later?
Because it sounds like they're recording songs one at a time, and with two done there's still I'd say at least 10 to go, which could take god knows how long, especially with Tool. The only way I see it coming out this year is if they're mixing/mastering as well as recording, and then it will be possible. |
you'd be suprised how long mixing and mastering really take. I'm sure they have some mixing master that charges a couple grand a day, but it still ends up taking a while to do all that.
Plus, the cover art, the booklet, song order(you know thats important to tool) btw, that tool cover show i mentioned earlier, was last night and you all missed a hell of a show, the final count was 42 paying people, and my band got a mosh pit going for every song. |

Im guessing it includes at least Stinkfist and Ænema
It would be included on mine anyway |
The best scenario wouldbe a late october release, and it coincides with Opeth's new release.
Happy Birthday Mr Ben  |
whats ur play list look like?
Intolerance 46 & 2 Swamp Song (I got a really good reaction immediatly after the solo in that song) Cold and Ugly Stinkfist Sober (We used a different drummer, we learned that song the day of the show and still got everyone singing along, headbanging, etc...) |
Pretty dark set then. YOur drumme rmanaged to pull off 46&2 then?
|
swamp song eh.....me likey
|
Wow, I got Portishead's Dummy a little while back and I was impressed. I really like the sound of those Trip-hop groups a lot. That'd be cool.
|

But I hope you have a pretty good bassist. |
Seeing those two tour together would be a very trippy experience, but would also be an absolutely awesome gig, although I'm not sure what sort of reception Portishead would get from a lot of Tool fans.
Well apparently Meshuggah didn't get a very good reception when they toured with Tool. I heard the Tool fans were standing with their arms folded etc, but Maynard seemed to dismiss that and said they only did that becuase they were ignorant of what Meshuggah we actually doing. This was talked about in the same interview. |
I respect what Meshuggah does and like their music a lot, but dammit when I'm there to see Tool, a mind-numbing band like them would only make me more impatient to move on to the main attraction.
|
^^Yeah, thats really how I felt when I was there..
|
he went a little fast on the intro for swamp song. the drummer just improved the solo to 46 &2 but like i said people really dug it. i will pay to do another show like that. especially if i can play the swamp song solo again.
|
I can see why most Tool fans wouldn't like Meshuggah. I love Meshuggah and Tool to death, but it's understandable. Standing their with your arms crossed and showing no respect I don't understand.
|
^^Yeah, thats really how I felt when I was there..
You lucky bastard... :p I still feel as though opening acts should be paid more respect. Just because your waiting to see a band you like more, doesn't mean it is going to degrade their quality of music. |
I can't believe that there wasn't more moshing for Meshuggah. I love Meshuggah and I can't believe that the majority of the Tool fans didn't really "get" the time sigs.
|
I think there must be a lot of people who don't get a lot of stuff, yet think they do. I find that really disappointing.
|
Ha, when I saw Meshuggah there was enough moshing! I did like their performance alot and I wasn't one of the people standing there with my arms crossed but after a while I just couldn't get myself to enjoy it as much, mainly because I was being squashed to death, but also because it was my first time seeing Tool and I just couldn't wait for them to take the stage already.
|
Yeah I read a bunch of short concert reviews of the Lateralus tour with Meshuggah and about 4/5 said that Meshuggah was a bore, but there was one that said they were awesome... to bad really, Meshuggah is a very talented band.
|
Meshuggah isn't accessible at all, and will obviously only appeal to a very small and specific audience. Nothing wrong with that at all, but there's no reason to knock Tool fans for disliking them. They are extremely talented, but their music has a hard time reaching out to different types of people, which leads them to appeal to a small market.
|
I'm not knocking Tool fans for disliking them, but at least show some respect. How can a band like the be "a bore" though? Ok so you don't like the performance but god that couldn't have been boreing...
|
Very cool!
But I hope you have a pretty good bassist.
As a bassist, I must say none of those songs are very hard. I can play all of them, save Swamp Song, simply cause I haven't learned it. |
Swamp Song isn't hard at all.
If I were to do a Tool cover show it'd be... Part of Me Prison Sex H. Pu**** Lateralus Schism |
I'm not knocking Tool fans for disliking them, but at least show some respect. How can a band like the be "a bore" though? Ok so you don't like the performance but god that couldn't have been boreing...
Respect, yes, but that doesn't mean you have to thrash around the whole time to music you don't really like...and frankly is sort of hard to thrash around to give the bizarre time signatures and rhythms and such. But I have to admit, respect gets a little tedious after awhile. |
