pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 01:40 PM

bitter burt, is what we use to call him when he'd yell at us for walking on the grass

TojesDolan 10-25-2006 01:55 PM

And "waltzing around S&L community thread" when Vince and Amanda were regulars in here.

Old times. Dusty old man full of green dust.

slack 10-25-2006 03:17 PM

Tom Waits is a name-droppin' pussy.

Surf 10-25-2006 03:20 PM

i will fight you

Nightvision 10-25-2006 03:23 PM

I will sell tickets and popcorn to fund my crack addiction. I'm hoping mind altering drugs will inspire me. Or turn me into a manslut.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:33 PM

when i've done coke i can't really do anything.

i kind of just sit. and run through imaginary lists in my mind

Minus The Flair 10-25-2006 03:35 PM

I could go for popcorn. Gah, I hate thinking up a great line which doesn't fit anywhere in a song.

Actually I can handle the thoughts in my head in a Linux-based OS.

Dragging thoughts around with your mouse is good times.

Nightvision 10-25-2006 03:49 PM

Yeah, popcorn sounds good actually.

/raids cupboards

MTF, welcome to my songwriting life over the past few months.

TojesDolan 10-25-2006 03:54 PM

If you don't suffer, your material is bland and useless.

Nightvision 10-25-2006 04:06 PM

Even bland and useless would be a start. :-/

*mope*

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 04:39 PM

Talk to some people.

Off the internet.

Nightvision 10-25-2006 04:45 PM

gtfo - you and I both know that people only exist on the internet.

Besides, I hardly spend any time on here as it is - generally the only times I'm on MX now are when it's *really* quiet at work. :-/

TojesDolan 10-26-2006 09:54 AM

I'm on MX always because procrastination is good for my heart.

On a related note, could someone give me his/her interpretation of Nietzche's phrase:

"And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

Some sort of indication that if you see darkness, say sinful actions or misbehaviour as a stranger, you may not be as much of a stranger to it?

One of the few reason I live for is right there.

Surf 10-26-2006 11:42 AM

never read Nietzsche, but i interpreted it as something like:

the longer you examine something, the more of an effect that something begins to have on you. poorly phrased i know, but my brain is wired and tired and stuff. someone else probably has a better idea.

Eliminator 10-26-2006 02:50 PM

Surf 10-26-2006 05:55 PM

ATTN: sloth - you have misspelled dying. you have been informed.

p.s., i finished the crit on your new piece, very nice stuff.

no problemo tojes, but i'm probably very wrong having never taken a philosophy course, or having actually read any Nietzsche.

slack 10-26-2006 05:57 PM

hey surf was my crit way off or what?

it has me perplexed

PERPLEXED

Surf 10-26-2006 05:59 PM

i shall check...

i wasn't really trying to make the room the mother, but now i just might say i was. its a good idea though, and i may try it out, see if i can improve it a bit.

thanks for the crit though :)

Yeah, I know... I had an idea and I thought it was clever at the time, etc... turns out, it didn't work how I wanted it to... oh well, live and learn

Surf 10-26-2006 06:04 PM

~flash~

i liked it, most of it was spot on, really good. but suprise is hard to convey in writing, especially when its not a novel with abot five hundred pages to set it up.

Sloth 10-26-2006 06:15 PM

yeah pretty much...

TojesDolan 10-26-2006 07:35 PM

I shall crit some day. When the circuits thing is over.

*sigh*

slack 10-26-2006 08:34 PM

well it was a good thread, tojes, until the retards hijacked it. :p

Nightvision 10-26-2006 09:05 PM

booyah, community thread.

I almost wrote something today. You might see it one day soon. Although I owe a lot of crits first.

TheBigMachine 10-27-2006 01:38 AM

Lolerz the only writing I've been doing is freestyling, and that doesnt count cause I always forget once were finnished...
