hello people, I'm in search of some cymbals and in need of help.

I want 2 cymbals, I want fairly big cymbals and I want the sound to be as follows:

1 crash/light ride
1 ride/crash

I would like to receive as many options as possible.

Chester 06-20-2006 11:33 AM

for the ride/crash, i wouldnt go with a cymbal necesarilly called a crash ride, jsut get a crashable ride, like a Sabian AAX Stage Ride, or mabye one of those Zildjian Sweet Rides.

red n black 06-20-2006 11:59 AM

^^^ thats what I was thinking too, maybe a heavier crash too

Static 06-20-2006 09:43 PM

Okay, I have a few things to ask you fellas.

1. AA Raw Bell Dry Ride. How does it sound? Some wash, nice bell, good cymbal? Past experiences, etc.

2. 13" or 14" AAX Stage/Studio Hats. How does it sound? Some wash, nice chick, tight sound when closed? Past experiences, etc.

Recommendations are cool, too.

Thanks in advance.

1. I have the AA raw bell and first off lemme say that you wont be dissapointed. it has the perfect amount of wash. The bell is freakin amazing. i swear. its my favorite thing on my kit now. the whole ride. get it. you wont be dissapointed.

2. I also own the 14 stage hats. THey also sound amazing they have nice wash to them. Very good open and half open as well as closed sounds. my favorite though is the hihat chokes with them. maaan talk about sweet jesus godly tone.

Chris 06-21-2006 03:06 AM

Rite, im looking into getting a K Ride, but i have a few questions.

Can you crash on them? Do they have a good mix of wash and ping? And is the 20'' any good?

1. Don't have the Raw Bell Dry Ride but heard it and it sounds awesome.
2. I have the 14" Stage hats in brilliant finish. Great wash, pretty good chick sound, and awesome closed sound. Like Tim said too, the hi-hat chokes are excellent. I'd definitely recommend these hats for all around general use.

HeLLmO 06-21-2006 12:25 PM

I'm looking for a good ride to contrast my K Heavy ride.

I'm not a whore so i'm not picky.

Basically my K has lots of ping and not much wash and a really cutting bell.

I want a ride that's more washy and jazzy but still has a good strong bell. I was looking at K Customs or the Sweet ride. What would you guys recommend? (I can get anything but Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Stagg, and Turkish a little easier)

Gimme watcha got!

New Beats are above Zildjians....seriously, they should be their own brand.

I used to have the sizzle hats. I traded them in for New Beats. They're pretty good. You cannot stop the sizzle though, when you play them open, it can be pretty overwhelming, but when closed they sound really nice. They're also incredibly loud.
