You make stencils out of construction paper? I would think the paint would bleed through. Does it work well?
I may a stencil out of plain old computer paper and it worked fine.
I made a stencil from the movie Eraserhead tonight for a shirt. I can't wait to put it on. I think I'm going to go out and get some spray adhesive though.

Wow, that looks like it's going to be great. :thumb:

I was actually thinking about doing the same thing awhile back. I still might. I did make eraserhead pins, though.

Yeah, I need an exacto knife too. I've been using a box cutter, which works just fine, but exacto knifes are better.

coheneran 11-12-2005 06:56 PM

I've got a Gabba Gabba Hey patch that I've got to sew into something but I can't be bothered. Eww how horrible, it says C(in the little circle, 'Copyright') 2003 RAMONES. How unpunk.

FunknPunk 11-12-2005 09:00 PM

2 questions:

1. how do you acid wash jeans?

2. Does white out work for black t-shirts?
2 questions:

Everyone keeps asking how to acid wash, and no one knows. I don't even know what it means to acid wash jeans, but it sounds cool so I asked as well. and if whiteout is tippex, then no, it won't work, it will dry and flake off/come off in the wash.

FunknPunk 11-12-2005 09:08 PM

im assuming acid washing is bleach solution, i just dont know the amounts and dont weant to **** up a pair of jeans

tippex? it doesnt say...

tippex is the brand name of the white paint you use to wipe over any errors in a text and when it dries you can write over it. it's called tippex here.

Brain Toad 11-12-2005 10:47 PM

Acid washing isn't really bleaching, it's lightening the jeans. It may be another term for bleaching, I don't know.

It's such a great film. On the back I'm going to put "In heaven everything is fine"
Acid washing isn't really bleaching, it's lightening the jeans. It may be another term for bleaching, I don't know.
you're right its not exactly bleach...
A very successful wash and a controversial issue. World famous, acid wash was first commercialised by the Italian firm Rifle, at Inter-Jeans in 1986. It turned into a boom and proliferated in a number of variations, but the process was actually patented by the Italian Candida Laundry Company the same year. It consists of soaking pumice stones with chlorine and using their abrasive power to bleach jeans into sharp contrasts. Also known as moon, fog, marble, ice and frosted.
Ross 11-13-2005 08:26 AM

Hmm chlorine...

*Heads to the local swimming pool*

Oh no wait! Thats full of urine.

Home acid washing sounds a little out if its chlorine, although I don't know if the general public can legally buy chlorine or not...

Anarcho Poser 11-13-2005 08:30 AM

doing it with bleach would probably have the same effect..

coheneran 11-13-2005 09:55 AM

I'm making an Oi Polloi stencil.

that's a nice stencil....
anyways. Just today I found something in my basement, it was "Zebra and Leopard print"
It looks something like this:
http://www.craftconn.com/images/fanfv021s.jpg
I like to think of telling somone "I'll trade you zebra and leopard print for that backpatch" and then when I give them the fabric....

KingOfSka 11-13-2005 10:15 PM

I made a stencil in art. Then I lost it.

coheneran 11-14-2005 04:27 PM

I finally finished that Stencil Punx' Oi Polloi stencil (I only work well when it's sunny). It doesn't look that bad when it's sprayed. I also sewed my Gabba Gabba Hey patch onto my Ramones jeans and did an extremely magnivous stencil of DK from Stencil Punx. I couldn't find any Ramones stencils so I will try and make one. I'll post it if/when it is finished.

Flagjacket 11-14-2005 04:44 PM

I did some Sharpie art on my Chucks, which was the Spcials Two Tone guy skanking ont he outside of the right shoe, Ska and a checker pattern on the strip that goes down to the right heel, and the Subhumans skull on the outside of the left shoe. If I ever get around to figuring out my cameria I'll post pictures cause they turned out real good.

Hahaha! "Dead Kennedies." If one of my mates ever did that, trust me, they'd never live it down.
