Interesting concept...
I listened to the sound clips. It sounds cool, but I think they sound TOO creepy to lull a baby to sleep.:thumb:

LoL Check it out

I thought they would be like members of the band, turns up they will only be cameos.

Still, that show looks funny.

Jev 08-05-2006 12:48 PM

I don't think we can get that show in the UK :(

Unforgiven Too 08-05-2006 03:07 PM

Metallica Inspired me to pick up the guitar!

Jev 08-05-2006 03:59 PM

Same here.

Huber 08-05-2006 04:49 PM

Blink 182 made me pick up guitar. Metuhl.

Jev 08-05-2006 04:59 PM

Hey at least you've moved on.

Six Foot Revolver 08-05-2006 05:00 PM

Muse made me pick up bass .

Trundle 08-05-2006 06:40 PM

I started playing the drums because I knew I would suck at all the other instruments:cool:

Jaundice 08-05-2006 09:33 PM

I don't remember why I picked up the guitar. I was supposed to be a vocalist (which would have never worked; my voice is really fragile). But I was probably inspired by Limp Bizkit, Korn, etcetera. :( Everyone has to start somewhere.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-05-2006 09:46 PM

RATM made me pick up guitar

Metallica gave me the desire to play music, but i wanted to do drums and i wouldnt nessacarily say lars made me wanna play drums but that metallica made me wanna play music if that makes any sense. Although ive picked up the guitar recently just last month which is contributed by james and kirk

Same as me, but I think I've been "inspired" more by Megadeth :p

But I just play guitar :p

Muse has awesome bass, and some awesome songs really.

Megadeth inspired me to pick up guitar. However I have like 3 Metallica Books. RtL, MoP, and AFJA.

QFT i never thought about playing guitar until i started listening to metallica

MRDuCran 08-06-2006 08:19 PM

I wonder who influenced Trvium...

Jev 08-07-2006 07:16 AM

Certainly not MOP era Metallica.

Painshock 08-07-2006 11:57 AM

Metallica made me start playing drums. it also had a big influence on me starting with the guitar as well, but singing... i dont know from where that started...

g°®† 08-07-2006 12:19 PM

I am not looking forward to Metallica's next album. Not at all.

Jev 08-07-2006 01:21 PM

Great to hear.

g°®† 08-07-2006 02:50 PM

I'll still buy it but based off of that preview of that song they did in concert, it's likely going to suck some major donkey nut.

And just so you don't think I'm a Metallica hater;

Metallica is what got me into music and guitar.

Aw3someman 08-07-2006 02:55 PM

Well if they speed the song up, like double time. And James clones himself from the 1980's we'll have a kick *** album. So... Yeah it's gonna suck Donkey nuts. I'll retreat into the first five Metallica albums.

victim of changes 08-07-2006 03:22 PM

I think it will be the best since the black album.

g°®† 08-07-2006 03:42 PM

I actually liked Load alot ... Until It Sleeps, Hero of the Day, King Nothing, The Outlaw Torn, Mama Said ... I thought they were good songs (regardless that Metallica used to be one of the top rated metal bands)

St. Anger was bad. The lyrics were bad. The guitarwork was mediocre, and the drums, though fast, just sounded like poop. Not to mention that James' singing completely made that album 'unlistenable' to me.

Chu 08-07-2006 09:00 PM

I liked the guitar in St. Anger, the drums, well they were something new.. Bad, but they were new :)

Edit: As I've said before, I didn't really wanna hear Kirk wank off 10 more similar sounding wah solos, I would rather he just not solo at all.
If, as this new song suggests, Kirk will no longer use wah, I might enjoy it, for the Lead guitar alone. :D

g°®† 08-08-2006 03:37 PM

The lack of solos didn't really bother me. It would've been nice to hear a few (at least one) but whatever. I liked Wasting My Hate (from LOAD) which didn't have any solo and also For Whom the Bell Tolls (there's no defined solo in that song) but whatever.

I hope thats true. As much as I like his older solos, I think the change could be a good thing.

Jev 08-08-2006 06:39 PM

I doubt he'll be wahless. He's practically attached to that thing.

Thats true, but I hope its limited at least.
