Today was exam day in 6th period, which is pretty much a blow off class lol, and I was exempt to go set up for a senior farewell ceremony. Well we do the pledge every morning during announcments..and this happened

Didnt feel like posting anymore, so i edited it out but yes I know what you're talking about lol. It was a talent show so we used one set all night, and only played one song and it was some drummer that played before me's set, he set up his stuff soo weird, re-tightned his snares really oddly, and put my high hat and cymbals at weird angles and he set the toms like that, I used a fusion floor tom, and a standard floor tom, and 2 congas for my fills in that song, fun little funky-reggae tune. Thanks by the way.

Yep. Congas are great. Used them earlier today at a little gig (some thing at our school) I didnt rehearse with the group that was playing, and its mostly improv so i brought them in case i didnt know wtf they were doing lol.

Nice I wish I had the opportunity to do stuff like that...

Yeah. I go to a private catholic school, so there is atleast one prayer service, or church stuff every month or so. Me and my buddies just get a buncha instruments together, pick out some christian rock songs and play them, but other times at assemblies and what not, they let us do contemporary songs.. like we had a senior farewell thing, were we had a church service than like a big party type thing.. where we played christian stuff than just rocked out its fun..

Ya, I Jam with some guys (about 40 years old each lol) but ya, we paly a ton of Christian Rock, I really enjoy that stuff for some reason lol, (well I am religouse but its still wicked music non-the-less) but ya, I got to paly infront of 300 or so ppl one time it was wicked (I don't consider it a gig though, seeing as it was a church meeting lol)

That reminds me. My set date to start playing at my church(weekly) got bumped back a couple months. Kinda sad, but MAN! Is it a relief, I am sooo not ready.

I just enjoy performing, if its a church gig, or a party gig, it's still the same rush. My gf (see pics above) is pretty religious, so she is starting to get me back into playing music at churches (we go to diff. churches though, hers is fun..she plays congas and bongos there..or she tries..lol its cute. mine is boring and traditional, until we started playing)

just came home from my friends band rehearsal, and his drummer has a beginner taye set. those taye beginners are like intermediate pearls..

I wish I was black and belived in God so I could go to a African-American Orthodix Catholic Church ( Hehe ). I would so be the drummer.
