Tropic Rot is actually pretty sweet.
Not as good as YCBY or Opposite of December. |
I got into metalcore with the Unearth and Norma Jean but soon moved onto Dillinger and Converge, then back and explored the beginnings and real hardcore. That was back when I was exploring every type of extreme genre though, in high school.
|
I didn't get into actual heavy stuff until maybe a year ago.
I'm all embarrassed when I just get into bands that people listened to in high school, like as if I shouldn't be listening to them. Better than all that indie fag shi that people my age listen to though I suppose. |
and that popular aussie band.
that? I really don't understand the hate on PWD in here tbh, it does my head in. |
They're are probably the best poopty generic metalcore band tbh
|
abr > pwd
sorry |

Watched their DVD the other night on Youtube. Was listening to Horizons earlier on too. |
abr > pwd
sorry
no need to sorries mang, that is the general consensus. and yeah abr are slightly better live |
abr > pwd
sorry
You know I thought of this just as I typed that post. But then decided it's really irrelevant, deciding who is the best of the shit, and just kinda went with it. ABR is at least legit metalcore though. Parkway Drive is just mall/brocore beyond belief, so I give them props for managing to be lamer while still being good. |
i dont cosider ABR poopty, just generic
i like alot of the riffs which i cant really say about most metalcore bands |

They really are just normal dudes. Was quite surprised when I saw the DVD.

Dude I don't dislike them or anything. Thats what I'm trying to say. |
they dont have swooped haircuts because they're too old. lol
but they're playing the same music as the dudes with the swooped haircuts its cool that they're down to earth and i still enjoy a couple tracks off Killing with a Smile as well as Don't Close Your Eyes |

Just depends on if the band is really good or not. Like for instance, I got into At the Gates in high school and they are still one of my favorite MDM bands. But bands like In Flames I abandoned long ago. |

all good Miik it aint personal, I'm still tainted by arguments with mappy and a few others bagging the **** out of them, I'm still unable to build me a bridge. |
you |--------| me
I know mah calculus
I still listen to a lot of stuff I listened to in high school but there is a lot that I abandoned as I moved on too. Just depends on if the band is really good or not. And also the things that constitute heavy for me are waayyy different now than they used to be. For example, lets go back to like my freshman year when I listened to Senses Fail (who I still enjoy for nostalgia). They are pretty heavy when put on the entire musical spectrum, but definitely not that heavy. |
Ya I use to listen to sense fail like when their first cd came out, I'm pretty sure I still have it. I was in gr 10 or 11.

From The Depths Of Dreams and Let It Enfold You are awesome albums.

IDK, Parkway Drive is pretty terrible. |
