Dimmu Burger 01-03-2009 12:51 PM

meh

Permanent Solution 01-03-2009 12:54 PM

Being thin rocks.

Low carb diets do not rock.
I'm not sure if it counts as "pure" surrealism but it definitely has elements, The City of Lost Children by Jeunet?
Sounds interesting, thanks!

xtal 01-03-2009 12:55 PM

pure surrealism is for fags

imperialblackness 01-03-2009 01:10 PM
good idea! I'm doing low carb, which is good cause I don't give my body anything to burn off, so it has to burn off my body fat. I need some water though, blah!
haha yeah, my uncle did some diet thing like that but he would also set his alarm for 4am and as soon as it went off he would get up and go running, he would say that your body burns the most fat when youre in your deepest sleep so if you were to jump up and start running while its burning fat all crazy you burn twice the amount of fat

Iluvatar 01-03-2009 01:24 PM

sounds fishy

Poet 01-03-2009 01:25 PM

probably is fishy.

although fish are great for your diet

Moon Flavor 01-03-2009 01:26 PM

Actually, your body burns the least fat when you're asleep....that's why they say "don't eat a bunch of food right before you sleep or you'll get fat"

This is also why bears hibernate

imperialblackness 01-03-2009 01:29 PM

yeah that makes sense, my uncle is one of those guys that thinks everything he says is 100% truth but im pretty sure hes wrong on half the stuff he says lol

Dimmu Burger 01-03-2009 01:36 PM

yeah everything slows down while you're sleeping, so your uncle is pretty wrong. Though it isn't a bad idea to get up early and run.

Moon Flavor 01-03-2009 01:49 PM

I can't even get up semi-early and walk, so **** getting up early and running:p

Dimmu Burger 01-03-2009 01:55 PM

lol I'm with you there. I can't even get out of bed for work!

2muchket! 01-03-2009 01:58 PM

Trying getting up at quarter to 6 and biking 1.5 miles to work.

Sucks.

imperialblackness 01-03-2009 02:00 PM

yeah i get up at 5:15 every morning for work. i hate getting up that early

jrowa001 01-03-2009 02:01 PM

i prefer to run in the morning because it starts my day off in the right direction. i get lazier as the day goes on. school screws up my chances of running in the morning though unless i get up at 5 or 6

Dimmu Burger 01-03-2009 02:13 PM

I get up at 530 1/3 of the time when I work day shift. I hate it.

I'm off guys, take it easy!

McP3000 01-03-2009 02:24 PM

5:30? that sucks. i haven't woken up before 1pm everyday since christmas break started except on new years because i was crashin at someone elses place

C.O.A. 01-03-2009 02:34 PM

i'm pretty sure that the whole point of running right after you wake up is to burn straight fat as opposed to eating stuff and then running, which would require that you burn off the crap that you just ate to then start burning fat...

i don't know anything though so maybe i'm wrong.

Moon Flavor 01-03-2009 02:39 PM

Nah that sounds pretty logical

yeah I've been waking up around 2 or so lately and then staying in bed playing playing demon's crest or chaos engine for SNES and posting until 4 or so. I love winter vacation

Txus 01-03-2009 02:44 PM

2???? holy **** man

I can't wake up past 10, like NEVER. Even if I have a huge hangover and I went to sleep at 6 in the morning, I wake up at around 10.

Yeah, my ability to sleep in is a bit of a curse... I find myself sleeping through 9 and 10AM classes all too often:(

Iluvatar 01-03-2009 02:50 PM

i have been avoiding drinking for the past like 5 days i am a good christian man now

Nostalgia 01-03-2009 02:57 PM

my stomach ulcer now prevents me from drinking alcohol. after a beer I'll usually get sick.

C.O.A. 01-03-2009 03:01 PM

The idea that when you stop burning food energy you start burning fat is such a misnomer =|

negrodamus 01-03-2009 03:02 PM

Why didn't anyone ever tell me how bad Kayo Dot sucks?

Txus 01-03-2009 03:05 PM

because they don't?

RiceMonster 01-03-2009 03:10 PM

I haven't listened to them in a while. They're pretty decent as I remember.

negrodamus 01-03-2009 03:12 PM

Maybe suck isn't the word I'm looking for. More like vastly overrated. It's weird though because I really like motw. I listened to Choirs of the Eye for the first time today, and I'm dissapointed. Maybe I should give it a few more spins.

C.O.A. 01-03-2009 03:18 PM
The idea that when you stop burning food energy you start burning fat is such a misnomer =|
so i am wrong?

Txus 01-03-2009 03:20 PM

Yeah, definitely don't judge Kayo Dot in the first listen. It's harder to grasp their music and feel it than it was with motW. But yes, I like motW a little more but imo they are completelyt different.

Permanent Solution 01-03-2009 03:21 PM
so i am wrong?
idk, I'm not a doctor

But I mean, if you go out with no energy, and start tearing your muscles, I imagine all you end up doing is destroying the muscles less than burning fat. The whole idea of exercise is to break muscles and then rebuild them. But if you didn't eat, you're not rebuilding them.

well isn't that generally referring to resistance training?

i'm talking about straight up cardio :/

RetiredAt21 01-03-2009 03:51 PM

When I wake up I do push ups and sit ups.

xtal 01-03-2009 05:15 PM

dis birthday is boring

at least i have money now tho
When I wake up I do push ups and sit ups.
i do that right before i go to bed.

adb 01-03-2009 05:55 PM
i do that right before i go to bed.
thats p dumb. Working out wakes you up because it releases endorphins.

The best time to work out is before and after meals where you eat a lot of lean protein

McP3000 01-03-2009 05:56 PM

i dont really sleep anyway. i usually do it about 2 and i go to bed at like 4 so its not that big a deal

adb 01-03-2009 05:59 PM

oh, yeah I used to do the same thing

I haven't worked out in all winter, maybe after I eat I'll do some pull/push ups

McP3000 01-03-2009 06:02 PM

my sleeping patterns suck. im awake for like 18 hours and sleep for like 10. So unless im drunk/high, im slowly turning nocturnal.
