whats the matrix then? thats original. or at least the idea itself

btw im really high. **** ya
the matrix takes a lot of cues from elsewhere, both stylistically and in theme

it was not an anomaly that just appeared in 1999

its like an awkward science fiction story a twelve year old would write

Nepenthe 01-04-2010 02:21 AM

hate if you want but the man pretty much invented every sci fi topic/cliche/idea/plot ever

you calling people awkward and immature is also funny let it be noted

Meatplow 01-04-2010 02:22 AM

asimov, stanislaw lem

i never once called any one awkward and immature. nice try tho.

Meatplow 01-04-2010 02:24 AM

also lets not forget the influential work of L. Ron Hubbard

Nepenthe 01-04-2010 02:24 AM

asimov isnt really as influential if you ask me. you can honestly draw parallels to a dick story from ANY sci fi work from the past 40 years.

Jaundice 01-04-2010 02:26 AM

Dick is the Kerouac of science fiction

oooh look at me i'm an amphetamine addict my mind moves too fast for me to put any thought into my fiction just hurry up and get the idea down in the sloppiest way possible and send it off to the press without revisions

Meatplow 01-04-2010 02:26 AM

i'm not going to doubt you there

all three are pretty big juggernauts the sci-fi world owes a lot to though

illmitch 01-04-2010 02:27 AM

hpl is as far into scifi as i go

Nepenthe 01-04-2010 02:27 AM

yeah fantasy is a much more intricate and exciting genre

Meatplow 01-04-2010 02:27 AM

Jaundice 01-04-2010 02:31 AM

what do you freaks know about literature

i've probably written more books than any one of you has read

and most of them were complex

Meatplow 01-04-2010 02:31 AM

fantasy is one of the most cliche ridden genres ever but i'll be damned if I don't like that formula

"No sir I do not snort cocaine from the buttocks of 8 year old ethnic boys on my boat"

illmitch 01-04-2010 02:32 AM
what do you freaks know about literature
