Seafroggys 12-30-2005 06:38 PM

I can't really listen to too much of hard blues, but blues rock (such as Cream) I absolutly love.

JonG 12-30-2005 07:10 PM

I like blues :)

I just got done listening to Earl Hooker and Eric Sardinas albums.

Cream is godly.

Disraeli Gears is not as good as I thought it would be, so I'm still a Fresh Cream kind of guy.

It would've been great if they would've named one of their albums,"Half-N-Half".

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 07:27 PM

or jugs. but that would only be great because the word jugs is hilarious.

Same here, I just bought Disraeli Gears today. Only $5.99 to!.

Nice

robo2448 12-30-2005 07:45 PM

I prefer Wheels of Fire to Disraeli Gears, Fresh Cream, and Goodbye. Pretty much just because of the live songs. All of Cream's albums have some crap on them. Their studio albums weren't all that consistent but the highlights outweigh the couple filler songs per album (usually Baker's contributions like Pressed Rat and Warthog or Blue Condition). Their studio albums were overshadowed by their performances but their still pretty good.

If you only buy their Greatest Hits though, you don't miss out on that many great songs.

I'm a Wheels of Fire guy through and through (same reasons as Robo.)

Lunch 12-30-2005 08:01 PM

I'm a Cream guy in general.
I'm a Cream guy in general.
Me too. I don't know if I could pick a favorite album. Although I agree on the "few bad songs per each album" thing.

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 08:14 PM

their live albums really dont have any flaws though, so thats good. especially since thats where they shine.

robo2448 12-30-2005 08:46 PM

Well my whole iTunes library just deleted.

I was listening to iTunes like 10 minutes ago, then closed it, came back 5 minutes later and everything was gone. I'm kind of hoping that it will all magically come back if I restart the computer or something. It's not too bad, I still have all the files in my iTunes folder, but I still have to add everything to the library. Wierd.

David Bowie is cool.

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 08:47 PM

I can't pick a favourite Cream album either, their all so good.

I can't get into Grace either.

The Allmans rule.

I listen to the blues.

There were four short and sweet answer to some of the topics that were discussed while I was at work.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 08:57 PM

Holy shmokers, my CR radio station had 500 greatest songs of all time. And guess what? THE LIST SUCKS. Its not even Stairway to Heaven number 1 sucks its 3 Aerosmith songs in top 10 sucks. I like Aerosmith but 1, 3 and 6 is crazy for any of their songs.

10. AC/DC~You Shook Me All Night Long
9. Boston~Peace Of Mind
8. ZZ Top~Tush
7. Boston~More Than A Feeling
6. Aerosmith~Walk This Way
5. ZZ Top~La Grange
4. Kansas~Carry On Wayward Son
3. Aerosmith~Dream On
2. Lynyrd Skynyrd~Sweet Home Alabama
1. Aerosmith~Sweet Emotion

Its a joke I was sitting there waiting for The Stones to come on number 3 or 2, no... their lowest number is 40 with Miss You. Beatles come in at 124 with Come Together. And only 8 Beatles songs on the list...

http://www.kzoq.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=16
Full list, in closing I would like to say my radio station blows.

zabbit82 12-30-2005 08:57 PM

The Allmans rule, amen to that.

And blues is great. I think its the best and most basic style of music out there.

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 08:59 PM

A Day in the Life was the top two years ago and this year it was Comfortably Numb.

It wasn't too bad as I can remember.

my friends question my sexuality at times. but let them! my heterosexual love for him will carry on!

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 09:11 PM

No Cream or The Who on that list either.

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 09:15 PM

that is probably the worst list ive ever seen. god i hate aerosmith.

JPBGAT 12-30-2005 09:16 PM

That list is terrible. I listen to 102.9 mgk and they always get it right. Stairway to Heaven number one. No matter how overplayed that song is it's still the greatest song. Free bird is second just because of the freakin sweet solo and I think hotel california was number three. The greatest songs have to have sweet guitar solos. Some of those songs on the list arn't even classic rock technically. You should find a different classic rock station.

PinkFreud 12-30-2005 09:19 PM

dammit krabsworth. there is too the who on that list! haha.

edit: AND cream. you are so wrong!

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 09:19 PM

Ya, I'll have to go about 500 miles east to do that. Montana blows, the Redneck influence is all over that list.

zabbit82 12-30-2005 09:19 PM
that is probably the worst list ive ever seen. god i hate aerosmith.
I love 'em. "Rocks" really rocks my world, that whole album. Although having thier 3 most overrated songs on a Top 10 list can be depressing...

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-30-2005 09:24 PM

"Dream On" is actualy a good song though.
No Cream or The Who on that list either.
THat's not a problem though. :p

The ones over here near Detroit arent that bad. Their top song lists are pretty straight, but more Bob Seger inflicted...

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 09:26 PM

Schyma, is that Mingus in your avatar?

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 09:29 PM

I'm listening to "Mountain Jam" just entered the bass solo around 19 minutes in.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-30-2005 09:30 PM

That list has "WHITE TRASH" all over it.

Eric Dolphy, not a fan of Mingus really......

clown_phobia 12-30-2005 09:33 PM

Is Neil Young good?

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 09:36 PM

Is he ever good. He's amazing. He can cover so many genre's, write great songs and has many classic albums.

I'd suggest On the Beach, Everybody Knows this is No Where, Rust Never Sleeps, Harvest and Tonight's the Night to start of with.

Maybe Greendale too, depends what style yo like more.

JonG 12-30-2005 09:37 PM
Is Neil Young good?
big lol

Of course he's good.

I finally found On The Beach on CD the other day.

:)

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 09:44 PM

Did you buy it?

clown_phobia 12-30-2005 09:51 PM

thanks. I think I might get something by him.

I really like Rubber Soul. I really love the melodies and the simple rhymes, yet it keeps the rock and roll theme. I love George's lead lines.

Great album. Nowhere Man gives me the chills sometimes :)

I've been prefering Revolver as the go-to Beatles album lately. Taxman and Love You To are my favorite Harrison-written Beatles songs.

clown_phobia 12-30-2005 10:04 PM

do you guys like wolfmother?

magicbus 12-30-2005 10:08 PM

Yes, Neil Young is good. On The Beach and Harvest are my favorites.

Rubber Soul is very cool too.

I love Harrison. He had an almost drastically diffrent writing style than the other Beatles. He really wrote some nice, warm songs with the group, as well as epics like While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I love happy Beatles songs like Here Comes the Sun and even some of the earlier songs like Paperback Writer and other songs from that era: not too early. THere's another one I really truly enjoy from that period whose name escapes me.
