Trust me, I'm very proud.
So, I was gone for a few days, what happened around here?
Apparently, everyone discussed drugs as I slept last night.

WelcomeToTheMachine 12-30-2005 02:27 PM

Schyma, your only 15? i imagined you older.

Anyway, The Doors movie is so good IMO i got it for xmas and watched it like 5 times, Val Kilmer does play a good Jim, there's some crazy scenes in the movie like the blood ceremony and all that.

/discuss the Doors movie
Plant isn't anything like Buckley. In order to call someone a watered downed version of someone I think the two need to have some similarities, which I just don't see between Plant and Buckley.

I don't think Plant's voice is what one would call "beautiful," but I do like his voice.

And Rod Stewart didn't always play "mom" music. The first side of Atlantic Crossing is very solid, but I have yet to listen to the second side.
nah. plant is a watered down, less talented version of cornell. they can sound similar when cornell goes high. yet plant has less of a range, less power, less versatility, and bad teeth.

there, i said it. neither of their lyrics are anything to write home about either.

QueenChaos 12-30-2005 03:15 PM
Plant deserved it thoroughly, he has the most beautiful voice.
There's nothing beautiful about Plant's voice - it's ELECTRIC.

Robert Plant is the best male vocalist because he owns a voice that MAKES you pay attention, to him, to the band, to the song, to the lyrics, to everything. Absolutely ELECTRIC.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 03:38 PM

... Roger Daultry does it better. Same with all them other guys on the final poll minus that Morrison fellow.

And the comparisson could've worked with any singer I was just trying to say that Robert Plant blows ass, I wasn't even really comparing just trying to trash Robert Plant.

MBS 12-30-2005 03:48 PM
Wooooooooooooooooooo! Be sure to tell us your opinions on it
It's really good, the documentary on the making of Grace is pretty cool, and a lot of the extra tracks are good.

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 03:49 PM

I got Folsom Prison by Johny Cash!

All these Robert Plant fans showing up out of the blue (and into the black, lololol) is kind of suspicious, don't you think?

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 03:51 PM

Hmph can't believe Dickinson won.

that entire second disc is pretty damn solid. mama you been on my mind, forget her, parchman farm, and a lot more are some of his best i think.
Hmph can't believe Dickinson won.
He didn't....

MBS 12-30-2005 03:56 PM

Forget Her is an incredibly amazing track, especially the climax of the song. I'm listening to it now, as a matter of fact.
drug talk
Didn't we all say we'd cut this kind of stuff because of what happened to Amanda?

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 03:56 PM

Hmph, I can't believe Mercury won.

Lunch 12-30-2005 03:57 PM

Who did you want to win, Mr. Grinch?

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 03:57 PM
Who did you want to win, Mr. Grinch?
Roger Daltrey.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 03:58 PM

Where is Amanda? I haven't seen her for along time.

Lunch 12-30-2005 03:58 PM
Roger Daltrey.
Good call.

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 03:59 PM

I should buy some Who albums with my Best Buy gift cards, what should I get Lunch?

Lunch 12-30-2005 04:00 PM

Get the Beatles instead. Since you don't like the Who.

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 04:01 PM
Get the Beatles instead. Since you don't like the Who.
I already have all their albums :-/

but really come on

Lunch 12-30-2005 04:03 PM

You really want a Who album, or are you yanking me?

If you do, get Tommy or The Who Sell Out. I doubt you'd like anything after Tommy.

Krabsworth 12-30-2005 04:04 PM

Ye I was considering Sell Out.

I just may have to get Tommy on vinyl...

She's on restriction because her parents saw a certain part of the thread that they felt was... "inappropriate" for her. She's posting on the name Kaleidoscope Eyes whenever she can.

JonG 12-30-2005 04:06 PM

I got another gift certificate to Best Buy.

Don't know what CD's to buy though :\

Recommendations?

np: Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come

Great song.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 04:06 PM

I know that :S but I ment on her Kaleidoscope name I haven't seen since like the start of December.

Crabwhatever, get Exile On Main Street its their best.

Get Exile On Main Street, Jon. Get it again.

JonG 12-30-2005 04:09 PM

Yeah, I probably will. It's only 8 bucks at this place I know.

:)

Exile On Main Street is Rolling Stones isn't it? I already have it anyway...

JonG 12-30-2005 04:12 PM

Yes it is.

Damn Videora iPod Converter. It messes up the DVD's I try to get on my iPod.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 04:13 PM

Oh, no Jon get a Brian Eno/Roxy Music album. Because then you could get on slsk and I could and you know... you could give it to me? :)

Glitterati 12-30-2005 04:15 PM
I got Folsom Prison by Johny Cash!
That's a super duper album. I got it for my birthday this year, really good. I like especially how nothing is cut out, i.e. you can hear everything in the background, so it gives it a really authentic feel.

np: The Smiths - Girlfriend In A Coma

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-30-2005 04:16 PM

No, he sounds like a woman version of Janis Joplin.

I think the Blues have completley escaped me as a musical genre I once loved. I don't know all of the Blues artists I once enjoyed are suddenly un-interesting and boring. (with the exception of Howlin' Wolf)

Took you long enough to figure that out.

The blues is a genre meant to be appreciated, but not really listened to. If that makes sense.
Took you long enough to figure that out.
You always act as if I'm the last to figure out something.

I can't get into Grace. :-/

Allman Brothers > everyone

Has anyone noticed that they came out with a 2 disc live set of 2 entire 1970 concerts? Allmusic says "after you listen to this version of "Mountan Jam" you can forget about the one on Eat A Peach". (or something along the lines of that) It makes really interested...anyone have it? Any good?

I can't listen to Jeff Buckley without feeling like a woman. There. I said it.

Pretty much.

A lot of people pay lip service to the blues without actually listening to it, and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Woodstock 12-30-2005 05:03 PM

Ok, I thought you were saying something along the lines of, "You can't enjoy the blues, but only admire it." Gotcha.

Glitterati 12-30-2005 06:15 PM

Bumpasauras Rex.

Heart is a pretty cool band.
