perriwinkle 02-10-2007 01:53 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-10-2007 01:56 PM

I'm not so sure how cool it is to be a grammar prick but forget about conventions.

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 01:58 PM

im not so sure whats cool and what isnt but bad grammar annoys me

Boilermaker 02-10-2007 01:59 PM

You suck at paragraphs.

This annoys me.

Sleepy 02-10-2007 03:16 PM
You suck at paragraphs.

That was a sentence, not a paragraph.

/leaps on grammar nazi bandwagon
I got my feet sunburnt today. How gay.
I'd imagine getting sunburned feet is the worst possible thing. Except for maybe if you were bald and got the top of your head sunburnt.

pikester 02-10-2007 03:52 PM

I just found out the insurance company isn't going to pay to fix my car.

Anyone want to sell me their car for a lot less than it's worth?
That was a sentence, not a paragraph.

/leaps on grammar nazi bandwagon
When he types a paragraph,

he types it like this

and leaves a lot of spaces and such.

Actually, it's not that annoying, I'm just messing with teh 'winkles.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-10-2007 06:20 PM

its the trendy thing to do

i mean as long as you spell everything right no one cares much

but once you **** that up you lose all integrity

or so it seems

Eliminator 02-10-2007 06:22 PM

sexymuffin 02-10-2007 06:23 PM

you guys

are

pretty

gay

Boilermaker 02-10-2007 06:24 PM

Like you write one sentence up here.

And another here.

And one more here.

And this one too.

But they are all on the same topic and should just all be connected in one line of sentences.

A nascent idea for a flyer for my radio show. Whaddya guys think? Too plain?

Boilermaker 02-10-2007 10:01 PM

That actually looks pretty cool.

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 10:10 PM

Thanks. I usually try to make these things as simple as possible because otherwise they look pretty lame.

i do graphic design too, what programs are you using?

personally i like it. i only had one thing that i'd add

consider http://members.cox.net/nickingv/sq.JPG

i like the balance it brings it, personally

edit and the fact that it gives reference to your offset square

you used a very balanced font with one offset, the tilt in "Dance"

and i think the border for the square serves the same mean

Just Illustrator + Photoshop. I should really try to get ahold of InDesign or something.

I've got to add some more text and our horrible looking station logo, but I think you're right. I really don't know the first thing about graphic design, but it's fun to tool around with the adobe suite. Plus I'd like people to, you know, actually find out about my show. Appreciate the input, guys.

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 10:25 PM

illustrator & photoshop is all you need, imo

have you learned how to vector in illustrator?

that shit is fun.

http://ishkabum.deviantart.com/

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 10:45 PM

Haven't done much with vector art, but shit is definitely pretty awesome. Most of the stuff I tool around with is stuff I scan in. Some of it I convert to vector art because I'm a pretty sloppy doodler and it makes things nice and clean.

no you fool, the inaccurate square is the whole point of the poster! you cant add a real square in there, it's just dumb. and Crumb will attract dumb people to his show, ones who can't deal with abstract representations of squares and absolutely NEED to have the real ones there! DAMMIT!

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 10:49 PM

i cant tell if you started that post out seriously and ended up trying to make it sound like you were joking or if youre just straight joking

YDload 02-10-2007 10:50 PM

well i am joking about how much it angers me, but i sincerely disagree with your choice of a real square. there's just no other way to put it without sounding ridiculous so i really piled the exclamation points on

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 10:55 PM

I'm not sure I want people that anal listening to my show. I just scanned a piece of paper I tore up. :/

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 10:57 PM

thats cool its opinion. this physics homework isnt

this is the first time that ive been in my dorm on a saturday night this year

like the whole school year

i just have a calculus II exam and a physics quiz on monday so i gotta do work

i'm not worried about physics but the calc is kinda hard sometimes

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 10:57 PM

They'd probably be calling in all like, "So I heard you just play that Neil Young song on your show and you said it was from On the Beach, but I could totally tell that it was from the Live concert recording bootleg from '76 because I heard the guy in the audience who belches at 3:41 on the track. I'm reporting you to the FCC."

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 10:59 PM

or they'd call in like "neil young sucks you n00b" and youd be like :upset:

Robert Crumb 02-10-2007 11:07 PM

If someone called me a noob outside of the internet, I'd cry a little tear for humanity.

And then beat the **** out of them for messing with Neil.

Greatest album ever.

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 11:16 PM

haha says the man with the neil young username

Broken Arrow 02-10-2007 11:17 PM

Um, this user name is actually from Buffalo Springfield's song Broken Arrow which Neil wrote and sang in 1967, you tool.

perriwinkle 02-10-2007 11:19 PM

wait what so was it a buffalo springfield song or a neil diamond song?

and don't call me a tool

Broken Arrow 02-10-2007 11:21 PM

I dont know if Neil Diamond has a song called Broken Arrow but I know that the Buffalo Springfield do.

I also believe Robbie Robertson has a song called Broken Arrow as well.
