Prince - "Let's Go Crazy"
The Clash - "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais"
David Bowie - "Changes"
**** Nacho, I always thought you were with me in hating The Clash.

Tomahawk 05-31-2005 12:47 AM

I didn't used to like them either... (White Man) in Hammersmith Palais is the song that got me into them, it's very awesome.

I downloaded that Varese song you uploaded a few days ago, by the way, so I've finally heard something by him, at least. Thanks for uploading it.
What did you think? I really picked "Hyperprism" because it's one of the shortest of his works that has the use of timbre and particularly percussion that is very special to his body of work as a whole. My favorite work of his right now is "Deserts," a work for orchestra and electric tape with 4 "episodes" and 3 interpolations of organized sound on tape.

br3ad_man 05-31-2005 05:03 AM

I got the Varese song you posted earlier also and I liked it. I'll have to listen to it some more to get to know it though.

It seems good. I'll have to listen to it a fair bit more before I'd count myself as a fan of it (or not), though. At the moment I think I feel that it's good, without really appreciating/enjoying it. I've only listened to it a couple of times so far after all.

I've listened to it a couple times on speakers and then last night on my headphones.

Sounds wayyy better on the headphones. I'm really beginning to like it, actually.

Luxor 05-31-2005 08:08 PM

Metric.

I've always thought they were... alright. But they released a new single off Old World Underground, which is awesome. So it made me get the album. It's good stuff.

biografiend 05-31-2005 09:47 PM

Today I have listened to:
Demon Days
Architecture in Helsinki-Fingers Crossed
some Yo-Yo Ma

I've also been trying to get into Rilo Kiley, but the few songs I have the girl seems to have a talking/singing voice instead of just singing. Are all of their songs in that fashion?

Zmev 06-01-2005 05:25 AM

I Was A Kaleidoscope 06-03-2005 06:37 AM

Speed Of Sound sounds waywayway too much like Clocks. Way.

I'm still being insanely creeped out by Summer Make Good by Mum. And I'm getting back into ( ) by Sigur Ros too.

They're both from Iceland. Coinkydink!2two

Interstate 06-03-2005 06:56 AM

All for £17 - well pleased, especially with The Blues 2 cd set.

Also received 1 Speed Bike - Droopy Butt Begone from ebay today, haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but I've wanted it for ages, hopefully it will be good.
