A bit.

Considered Dead and Erosion of Sanity are great.

oh look it's hbp
Good one.

TojesDolan 08-08-2007 02:20 PM

Old Gorguts is good times.

rattlehead42147 08-08-2007 02:59 PM

everyone should own considered dead its great work. chris barnes is on it as guest vocals and james murphy lays down the best lead on the album on the last track

Bartender 08-08-2007 03:05 PM

I might as well be what looks like the first person to say I really like Obscura.

No you're definitely not alone, lots of people really love it. I heard the album that follows it and it seemed a little more refined, but I'm just generally not a fan of the whole squealing, instrument punching thing they've got going on (which of course is continued excellently/horribly in Negativa).

yeah i like that one too

Bartender 08-08-2007 03:26 PM

Well, in this thread, I meant. I've not heard anything past Obscura, or from Negativa. As much as I enjoy it, I'm not sure I'd like to hear Obscura part 2.

rattlehead42147 08-08-2007 03:29 PM

haha yeah i have to agree with cocaine, gorguts got a little bit too wrapped up in trying to be progressive or technical or whatever you want to call it and the consequently the music suffered after obscura

Well, the album that came after Obscura seemed like a mix of their angular random dissonance and the **** they used to play.

Negativa actually bothered me when I listened to their EP. Like, I was physically uncomfortable and it really, really pissed me off.

masscows 08-08-2007 03:38 PM

What I've heard from Obscura was a little "wtf?", but I didn't think it was that bad.

LifeInABox 08-08-2007 03:58 PM

Has anyone ever heard the Dismember demo(s)?

Tyler 08-08-2007 03:59 PM

Yes, they were discussed not too far back.

Yeah Negativa sucks.

How are they? I found a complete compilation of them for cheap.
How are they? I found a complete compilation of them for cheap.
They're pretty solid. Vocals are the only major difference from later Dismember.

They used to have at least one of their demos on their site but it doesnt seem to be there anymore.

LifeInABox 08-08-2007 04:06 PM

How are they compared to LAEFS?

Tyler 08-08-2007 04:08 PM

The vocals? They're higher and screamier, I guess you could say.

LifeInABox 08-08-2007 04:09 PM

No, I mean the music in general.

pate 08-08-2007 04:10 PM

Pretty much the same. Like most Dismember.

LifeInABox 08-08-2007 04:11 PM

LAEFS is quite good, though. We'll see. I must purchase a hard copy of Blessed Are The Sick before I do anything else.

Tyler 08-08-2007 04:13 PM

The only Dismember that's really different is Massive Killing Capacity

pate 08-08-2007 04:13 PM

Truth. And it's damn good as well.

Hallucigenia is one of my favourite tracks they've done

pate 08-08-2007 04:20 PM

Casket Garden is the one for me.

Dimmu Burger 08-08-2007 04:33 PM

I listened to Behemoth - Pandemonic Incantations. It didn't really impress me all that much.

Angmar 08-08-2007 05:23 PM

Thats because Behemoth is meh.

Dimmu Burger 08-08-2007 05:25 PM
Thats because Behemoth is meh.
I read somewhere that they "Rule All", I can't seem to remember where though.

Demigod is their best album. I've heard Pandemonic isn't that good, but if I heard it I wouldn't really know what to think of it because Behemoth was a black metal band back then, and I have no idea how to judge black metal.
