Go arch-mage class. They're hella-powerful.

But seriously, what do you like, and what are you good at? Besides noise.
I'm not really good at anything in particular. I like music and writing. I probably won't be famous by I really wouldn't want to do a 9-5 job either.

Efrim 10-26-2006 09:06 PM

Journalism, teaching(writing), or you could try for sound engineering. I was considering that.

I've been thinking about appliny for CSIS after I graduate. They're really recruiting these days, and the job offer sounds pretty slick.

Go to your local junior college and get a feel for all the fields of study offered, particularly the ones that catch your interest and see if they are anything you would be interested in doing. If after 2 years of attending said school you still feel unsure, quite and work 9-5 until you decide what your calling in life is.

You could always try being a sound engineer since you like noise and music. Beaten? Oh lord, why? WHY?!

User Name 10-26-2006 09:08 PM

Those first two sound good, but my sister wants to do sound engineering. I wouldn't want to copy her.

Maybe I'll train to be an NFL kicker. I think I could handle that.

The Brad 10-26-2006 09:09 PM

Women have an advantage in the field, since they have slightly better hearing because they are less likely to be in areas where the SPLs would be excessive.

Efrim 10-26-2006 09:10 PM

But....they're women....see what I'm saying?

Akira 10-26-2006 09:13 PM

Haha, Wild At Heart is on tv. I forgot how hilariously violent the intro to that movie is.

The Brad 10-26-2006 09:13 PM

Yeah, I've never met a female sound engineer, but I have never really searched. I mean sure there were 3 girls in my class, and 30 guys, but no one went on to persue recording to my knowledge.

Professional knife fighter/ knife fight aficionado.

Efrim 10-26-2006 09:14 PM

I hear that pays quite well, Eric.

The Brad 10-26-2006 09:15 PM

You could work one month at a ****ty job and buy a bunch of liquor and lotto tickets like my friend and keep hoping you will win until you run out of money and have to search for another job.

I'd be in it for the love of the sport, until I graduated to Tactical Commando. That's where the big bucks lie.

I'm only 16, but there's a place down the street that sells scratch tickets to minors. I might try that out.

The Brad 10-26-2006 09:20 PM

He was only seventeen with a fake ID that read Brian McQueen.
Wait, that was Homer Simpson.

Efrim 10-26-2006 09:20 PM

Start grifting.

Give either version of Epiphany a listen (I think the only difference is slight sound level differences, but I dunno).

I think you'd like it. It's sort of like what my music would sound like if I had a really expensive looper, and a sexy Elrick bass.

User Name 10-26-2006 09:29 PM

Some kid got expelled for selling green tea as weed. I could give that another shot.

Akira 10-26-2006 09:31 PM

8 days until Borat comes out!

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 09:31 PM

Have enough bass looping?

But It's nice to listen to. Quite relaxing.

The ting's really fill in the sound.

irishslappop 10-26-2006 09:32 PM

I am so fucking pumped. One of my friends and I have been constantly talking about it for weeks.

You can never have enough bass looping going.

He's got a fucking powerful looper, too. I'd kill babies for one of those, but it's worth more than my looper, my ME-50B, and my head put together.

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 09:34 PM

Me and my friend had managed to steal on of the 8 foot tall Borat stands.

It's now in his Dorm Room.

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 09:35 PM

I use the ME-50b looper occaisioanlly.

It just doesn't record for long enough :(

Efrim 10-26-2006 09:36 PM

Ben, it's good, but I prefer yours. I'll check out some of the other songs too.

User Name 10-26-2006 09:36 PM

I still regret not buying that RC 20.

Dude, the ME-50B blows for looping.

You need one of these:

That's so unbelievably hardcore.

The thing I like, though, is that I kind of see it as an echo of the stuff I'll be able to do as I progress. Above all else, his song structuring is far superior to mine.

I adore his tone, though. Seriously.
