bleh...I have to play "Anthem" (blink 182), at an upcoming show. I usually don't play punk, and travis's drums are confusing me. Can someone chekout the drum tab on Anthem and tell me if its correct (I'm trying to play the tab but it doesn't sound right when I do it with the music).
|
Too bad it's not anthem by rush ;) Great tune.
|
lol as soon as i saw the word *** hat i thought of a hi hat without cymbals, and instead two *** cheeks clamping together whenever pressed down on the pedal, lol.
also, blink182 is punk now? and anthem by rush is a sweet tune |

I'm back from my vacation.
The East Coast is fun. Second time I've been there. Went to Sam Ash and Mandy's in Manhatten. Played on a pro level set for the first time (7 piece Starclassic) it was fun, hadn't played for a week since I left home, good to get the munchies out of the way. New York has some **** hot chicks, and they're foreign too! (I love foreign chicks, accents are one of my biggest turnons). Quebec had more hot chicks too. Actually the reason why I went over was to watch my brother compete in DCI in Boston (he's part of Oregon Crusaders, they're Division II). Man the Grand Championships were awesome, I love some of those drumlines, especially SCV's. |
Yeah why do you think I live in NY?
|
peace out.
bed time. |
Later.
|
Now what?
|
Jim, I posted a link for some of my music in G+M - check 'er out!

Just a 'I'm bored so info on me right now' update for everyone.
Band is going fine, we talked to the guitarist and everything is cool. We're still gonna try to get a second guy anyways to broaden our **** out a bit. Anyways, I talked to Mark (main booking at El Torreon), and he said the PA show was a bust. only 55 people showed up, which isn't bad, but when you consider they needed 200 to pay for the PA (at $10 per person), that sucks. So I said if they do a part 2 to let me know and I could probably get bigger bands. So all in all, it looks like I might be booking my first actual show! It'll be tough, I gotta get some big name locals and convince them to do a part 2 for free, but if I do it'll be so rad. |
Well I'm hittin the sack.
Goodnight. |
2g's for a PA? - are you buying it?
Where is this concert being held? If you are only playing for 50-60 people you could proably get away with just running vocals through a PA, you wouldn't have to spend so much. |

The concert (PA benefit) already happened. I'm trying to arrange a part 2. It took place at El Torreon, host to all sorts of 'popular' Metal and Hardcore shows. http://www.eltorreon.com THE spot in KC for heavy music. Their speakers on their sound system were blown, and it cost $2000 to re-cone them. This was an effort to raise money to pay for that (they already did it, now just trying to cover costs), and it didn't work out so well. I'm trying to arrange a part 2 with better bands. And there's no escaping paying for it, it's already done and was needed. Upcoming shows there (to show what kinda bands): Evergreen Terrace, Dredg, Summers End, HORSE the Band, Madball, Walls of Jericho, Winter Solstice, etc etc. |
you should have cheap lil things at the door and put up flyer's and etc, ive gone to a few gigs out of boredom and wanting the cheap thing at the door, so i really wanted a kazoo...so what, lol
|
haha
well whenever we play shows we do fliers everywhere. Go to shows and hand 'em out, go to bars, I hand them out at work, on the street, everywhere. That's what you gotta do to get people to hear about ya... Selling Kazoos is a great idea! Ok ok ok! My singer came up with this shirt idea at a GWAR show about 2 weeks ago. On the front (the picture is in black and white), typical sad beautiful emo girl laying up against the wall, in her hands and around the floor, blood all over (this might be red to greatly contrast it). On the back: "I miscarried at the Lufthansa Heist show!" :D :D :D |
