The genre has it's moments and metalcore bands such as converge and botch have made some great albums.

Can someone here please explain to me what the big deal is with Converge? All of the music Ive heard from them is nothing more than noise.

thank god! finally someone sees it the way i do. i dont think theyre really that talented at all, and yet everyone seems to think they are so innovative or something. its just noise. thank you!

If you can't seem to hear notes and melody, then you really should just give up on listening to music. Maybe you can live in a cave. Then again, when the nearby animals came near, you would probably yell at them - "STOP MAKING THAT GOD DAMN NOISE!"

Saying that Converge is just a bunch of noise is NOT an opinion--it is flat out false. You can say that you don't appreciate it, and that's fine, because that IS your opinion. But saying it is just noise and inaudible crap makes you simply wrong.
