ZZ Top, George Thorogood, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.

Different aspects of older rock got me to venture.
Bob Dylan had me explore Young, Morisson, Mitchell, etc... Hendrix had me explore, Duane Allman's work, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Santana David Bowie had me explore T-Rex, New York Dolls, other glam rock bands and. Pink Floyd got me into King Crimson, Yes, ELP, Genesis, Moody Blues, and ELO. |

What's the group opinion on...Traffic?

I used to only listen to Queen. They pretty much got me into music hardcore, I feel guilty when I hardly listen to them anymore, I still know every word to like every song. Same goes for a few other bands, I've kinda overwhelmed myself trying to listen to so much at once. Constant YSI uploads don't help either.

Me too :amaze: EDIT (In response to Jam2Me's post) I know what you mean about remebering every word to every Queen song. I can't think of a single song by them where the lyrics are obscure in any way, as opposed to most other bands. They must have been really proud of their lyrics They were also unique in that each member of the band had a part in song writing for the band, as each member had a #1 hit (May:We Will Rock You Deacon: Another One Bites The Dust Murcury: Bohemian Rhapsody Taylor: I can't think of one, but there is one somewhere..) |

They're pretty good. Their self titled is my favorite. |

But they're so awesome, I listen to them atleast twice a week. :) |
Who here loves Supertramp? I have Breakfast in America and Crime of the Century, both on vinyl. I love both albums, very much so.
I think they're very underrated in the Classic Rock world. All their songs sound so good to me, just really fresh, and classic without making it seem like they're stealing themes from other songs. Great band. |
I've been meaning to buy a Queen album for like four years now, I've never gotten around to it. The closest thing I got was a DVD with their 'early' videos (up to Another One Bites the Dust) I've only seen it once. I'd much rather got a CD.

taylor did "im in love with my car."

I'm a Queen fan, but I've never heard that song. I'm on a big Johnny Cash kick right now. |
i have it on live killers. hes a **** good singer. he also did the extremely high note in bohemian rhapsody. the one on "beelzebub has a devil put aside for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." the high "me" part is him, not mercury.

You learn something new every day. Me and my dad were driving around today listening to Ring Of Fire. Such a great song. |

I haven't heard it. Allmusic gave it like 2 stars. |

Me and allmusic don't see eye to eye on many subjects. |
Yeah Taylor actually has the largest range for male singers on record from what I've heard. He out ranges Mercury even!

Allmusic has been pretty good with me. Except for the Stange Days rating and the Led Zeppelin ratings almost everything is eye to eye with me and allmusic. If anyone wants to know shroom kool-aid tastes really bad. |

like, out of all singers? or what? because i find that hard to believe. |

I have them both on CD (well one of them is actually my parents' but meh). Anyways I have a few friends who think Jim Morrison has a terrible voice, which I must say really surprises me. I really don't see what they're holding against him. |
So why didnt you go to Hawk Rocks??
Well essentially because my friend didn't get back from tennesee soon enough. His uncle had my tickets (which I had paid 50 bucks for) but I had no way of contacting him, because my friend was in tenesee. So I decided to try and find someone else to go with (for the first night or two at least) but as it turns out none of my other friends were going to the hawk rocks the park, and I didn't particularly want to spend 50 bucks to go see one night of a concert that I'd already payed to go see, by myself. Then when my friend was back there were only the last two days left of the concert (which to me looked the worst, but I'd still go) except that because my friend's uncle hadn't been able to contact me, he'd brought along someone else and sold them the ticket (I got my money back but it still sucked) and so I really didn't feel like speding the money. It was a really mixed up weekened but in the end I decided I'd save my money and go to some other concerts instead. (sorry if this didn't make sense I'm a little bit tired). |
You didn't stop in to the Organic Traveller by any chance did you? Because I saw some people wearing CR T-shirts in there.

Supertramp are awesome, extremely creative, great musicians, what's not to like? :)
RAR will agree with me there. |
