"stick and a half of butter" ...heart attack much? :p
1. The turkey was divided between five people. That's what, a quarter of a stick per person? Not that bad.

2. A lot of it drips out from under the skin and into the pan.

3. Which I ate back with delicious maple gravy. (I basted the turkey with maple syrup, and we used the drippings and stuff at the bottom of the pan for the gravy)

I eat really unhealthy anyway. While I'm young, I guess. I'm not particularly obese or anything 193 lbs. for a 6ft + guy ain't that bad. I'm a big dude, though.
on a side note, i don't mind if a girl isn't into cooking because i love to do it.
I'm not confident enough about my cooking to cook for other people. The thanksgiving was out of necessity, because my mom had already invited someone, yet she wouldn't get home from work early enough to start the turkey. I just took over after that because my mom sucks at cooking.

Plus I don't make side dishes, which I think people expect. I'll make a kick *** plate of nachos, but that's all I plan to make.

I actually do mexican food kinda often, because it's easy and quick and my mom buys a lot of ground meat that doesn't have many uses besides mexican. I gave up making burgers a while ago. They never turn out good when I make them. :(

I made fresh guacamole yesterday. Super good :)

Permanent Solution 12-09-2006 09:09 PM
I agree.

Thanksgiving is one of my least favorite holidays. I really don't care about the food, and I always have to see a whole bunch of my cousins who are < 13 years old, and annoying as hell.
Mine too, but even though my t-g was spent with children younger than my little brother for the most part, i didn't really mind. Family is family.
have i said anything about it? i dunno.

but its a job at Whole Foods in Austin which is like a Grocery Store thats the size of a shopping mall.

10 bucks an hour starting. Dang
Ahhh, Whole Foods eh? They're my company's competition haha. They pay very well though. Nice stores too. Overpriced as all hell though.

Jon: Try Italian...spaghetti, lasagna, etc...

I love cooking for people, maybe because I'm a bit of an attention whore, but I really enjoy it. It's fun.and tasty.

PS Brian: I think i'm going to make a PP users awards thread, yay, nay?

BridgeToSolace 12-09-2006 09:22 PM

What do you expect!?

How you make it!?

I'm portugese, I swear! That's like, half mexican alreadY!

Permanent Solution 12-09-2006 09:25 PM

avocados, onions, jalepenos, tomatoes, cilantro and a pinch of salt

BridgeToSolace 12-09-2006 09:26 PM

I hate raw tomatoes, and I don't have fresh cilantro.

The salsa made up for that.

And lemon juice is to keep it from oxidizing, and adds a bright flavor!

Permanent Solution 12-09-2006 09:28 PM

lemon and lime are sometimes additions, i forgot to mention that.

cilantro is KEY. salsa ruins guac imo, however, what makes your recipe so white is garlic (wtf?), hot sauce, and worcester sauce. nub

TheBigMachine 12-09-2006 09:29 PM

Im going to write a cook book.

Vince VS Jon
Gourmet cooking for the young adult

I am going to use the recipes of the last three pages.

But playing with knives is half the fun of cooking Joel :(

Mitch: Alright, as long as we're getting some sort of compensation... ;)

I added quite a bit and I couldn't really taste it afterwards.

I probably wont do it again.

Worcester sauce adds the same tangy flavor as a lemon juice, actually.

Hot sauce adds heat, again. It's made from jalipenos, so it's close enough.
